CBS Wants More "Practice"

practice.jpgScore one for the Fonz! TV Week says that CBS has given a full-season order to the Henry Winkler/Stockard Channing sitcom "Out of Practice."

Tons of TV viewers might be stunned, since many called it to be one of the first-cancelled shows of the season. The show, which centers around a family of dysfunctional physicians, actually ranks as the second-highest new comedy of the season, just behind NBC's "My Name is Earl."

The show also stars Christopher Gorham and Paula Marshall, who were both considered to be the kiss of death for sitcoms. Way to turn things around!

It doesn't hurt that their lead-in is the highly rated "Two and a Half Men." The show actually manages to hold onto about 80 percent of that audience. Not too shabby.

"Out of Practice" airs Mondays at 9:30 p.m. (EST) on CBS. -- Rachel Cericola
