Bad Day for "Night Stalker"

townsend.jpgWe have another open slot in the TV schedule. The Futon Critic says that ABC has canned "Night Stalker" after only six episodes.

Executive producer Frank Spotnitz confirmed it on his blog, while thanking Touchstone for the opportunity to crush all of his hopes and dreams. Despite a big-name cast, the show got less than four million viewers last week. ABC hasn't announced anything, but it's already gotten the hook from their Web site. Ouch!

Don't cry too much for star Stuart Townsend. He has Charlize Theron to console him. Co-star Gabrielle Union will be seen on the big screen soon in "Running with Scissors."

A two-hour installment of "Primetime" will fill in for this week, with previously planned airings of "Finding Nemo" and the Pope movie conveniently filling in for a few extra weeks. No word on what will permanently fill the slot. -- Rachel Cericola
