Spike Pits "Pros vs. Joes"

rice.jpgInstead of yelling at your favorite (or least favorite) sports teams from the comfort of your couch, Spike TV is giving armchair athletes a chance to put their money where their huge mouths are. Slam! Sports says that the network is currently casting a new reality show titled "Pros vs. Joes."

The show has former and current pro athletes compete against regular guys to see who will be the one doing a victory dance. A few of the names being batted around for the pros side include Jerry Rice, Brandi Chastain, Dominique Wilkins, Karl Malone, and more.

The 10-episode show seems to still be casting via Craigs List. "Pros vs. Joes" is scheduled to premiere in spring 2006 on Spike TV. -- Rachel Cericola

Love the show and would love a chance to play against a pro. 220,5'11" very athletic, but it's been a while since I have played an organized sport. Work-out and mountain bike often. Umpire baseball part time. Would love to talk junk and rub elbows with the pros. Hope to see you on the field.

I am a really competitive guy, love sports and would love a chance to compete against the Pros. I would definitely give it my all. I might surprise you, I'm not that big, at 5'11", 185 lbs, but I can hold my own.

My buddy Jason is what I call a couch coach. He's always yellin' and hollerin' about what was wrong, bad plays and anything else that's wrong with the game. He watches base, foot, tennis, bask, and I even caught him watching a spelling bee. He watches ESPN
24/7. I've talked to him and he thinks he can beat a pro. He's very athletic. Whataya' think?

-- Posted by: Jason Young at January 27, 2007 2:58 AM

6'4 230lbs All-State Volleyball, Football player that thinks the Joe's you have chosen are a real joke. I play all sports and had chances to play volleyball and football with full scholarships but unfortunate circumstances prevented me. Many people think they're real athletes but are not even close. I KNOW the pros are not that good, especially the washed up pros you have on your show. I would love to hammer those clowns and show them up on TV or anywhere to knock them off the high pedestal the media puts them on. Its all about entertainment, thats exactly what I would give you!

SUUP, my name is Daran "THE ONE TIMER" Daab. I would really like to be on the show pros vs. joes for many reasons, but the main reason is to see how I would stand up againts pros at their respective sports. I am 6'1" about 210 pounds. From what I seen on the show I'm easily fast enough to win all the contest that u have on the show. I also have great hand to I contact for eithier catching or hitting a ball. If u give me a chance I could suprise everyone and be the best contestant on the show ever. Please give a chance I am doing it for the pride and bragging rights, but I'll be more than happy to take the $20,000. P.S. The show should give a champion ring out to the winner. Will some one E-mail me the best way to get on the show daaber@hotmai.com

Instead of hitting against a pro, how about a pro hitting against me and trying to hit my fast ball or curve or slider.Anybody can hit a 85 to 95 mile an hour fastball. instead of me trying to defend jerry rice, let jerry rice defend me one on one. and who cant hit a golfball 300 yards?PLEASE!! Let me prove my ponit

My name is Matt Robbins, age 24, 6-Foot, and 190lbs. I play every sport known to man and am extremely competitive. I'm gauranteed to be in better shape then any of these other scrub 'Joe's.' Besides, the game is about me being better then the other Joe's regardless if i'm better then the Pro's. However, I will give these Pro's a run for their money. Put me on this show! It's time to give the fans someone good to watch.

Hello, my name is Georgianna. I would like to know what to do to get my husband Adam Piestewa on this show he is 29 yrs old, a great stay at home dad of 2 kids. He lifts weights every morning. He's a great hunter. I know he'll give you a show if you let him. He's not much of a trash talker, if that's what you're looking for. This man loves almost every type of sport and I know he'll do his best at what you
throw at him. I would really appreciate it if you would give him a shot at this great show. We are big fans of the show and watch it as much as we can. Thanks!!!

Hi my name is Artavia Mishaw and I would like to sign up my brother Maurice Mishaw for Pros vs. Joes. He's 25 years old, weights 225ibs., his speed is a 4.4, and he is now in semi-pro football. He's very athletic, competitive, and practically lives in the weightroom. There's no doubt he has what it takes to compete with the pros.
