People like watching movies at home -- are we surprised? It's got the candy that you like, you can tell people to shut up at whim, the movies start on your time and the toilet paper is a lot softer. Maybe that's why networks are making movie deals.
Hot on the heels of Sci Fi's announcement with Lions Gate, MediaWeek says that Spike TV has made a deal that will give them the rights to broadcast hot titles from Miramax.
A total of 17 flicks are in the package, including Robert Rodriguez's comic-book adaptation, "Sin City." Other films include "Iron Monkey," "Mindhunters" and "Hero." All of these films will make their debut on Spike in 2007. Can't wait? Try to motivate; each of these titles should be stocked in your local video store. -- Rachel Cericola
