Owen Wilson's New Role: Sitcom Mogul

wilson.jpgAbout two years ago, Entertainment Weekly was looking for ways to fix Owen Wilson's career. Now he couldn't be more on fire if you doused him in gasoline. On top of the summer success of "Wedding Crashers," Variety says that Wilson is working on a new comedy for HBO.

Wilson isn't the only mastermind behind the half-hour show, titled "Bert & Dickie." Larry Charles, who has had his hand in hits such as "Mad About You," "Seinfeld," and more recently, "Entourage," and Def Jam co-founder, Rick Rubin, are also working on the project.

The show focuses on an odd-couple standup comedy team that just can't seem to get ahead. The trio will co-write and executive produce the project. Unfortunately, Wilson will not star. No word on when the show will actually make it to air. -- Rachel Cericola
