If you watched any game shows in the '70s, you remember Nipsey Russell. He did so much more over his long career, which makes it very sad to hear Fox News reporting that the comedian has lost his fight with cancer at the age of 80.
Russell's first claim to fame was the 1961 TV show, "Car 54, Where Are You?" He also later appeared in the 1994 big-screen version, which was his last film. He also starred in 1978's "The Wiz" and the 1986 Goldie Hawn comedy, "Wildcats."
I remember him most as a mainstay on shows like "Match Game" and "Hollywood Squares." He always left viewers with a poem and a smile. -- Rachel Cericola
