NBC Plans "Heist"

mrmrssmith.jpgCould Doug Liman plan the perfect crime? NBC is hoping so. Variety says the network has ordered a pilot for the comedy/drama "Heist," which Liman will direct.

The show follows a group of thieves as they plan to rob three stores on Rodeo Drive. Think of it like a mini "Ocean's 11," without the Julia Roberts side plot.

Liman recently hit it big as the director the big-budget Brangelina vehicle, "Mr. & Mrs. Smith." He is also one of the producers of TV Fodder favorite, "Arrested Development." I will always remember him fondly as one of the genius minds behind "Swingers."

The pilot will be written Mark and Robb Cullen ("Lucky"). NBC must be expecting a hit; rumor has it, they've already ordered an additional five scripts. -- Rachel Cericola
