It might be just what the doctor ordered: ABC News is reporting that singer and cancer survivor Melissa Etheridge is working on a sitcom. Not sure if she can pull off funny, but I didn't think "Reba" would last either.
The premise is sort of interesting: A look at Etheridge's life if she hadn't hit it big. She will play a gay teacher, living and working in Kansas. No word on how much, if any, of the plotlines will draw from her real life.
The show is still in the development stage, but Etheridge fans will be able to celebrate by picking up her greatest hits CD and DVD, both of which are scheduled for release this week. -- Rachel Cericola
