Is "Alias" Fading Out?

alias.jpgAll of the "Alias" talk circulating around this season certainly hasn't created a ratings buzz. E! Online says that despite characters getting killed off, plot twists, new faces and one impending pregnancy, the show isn't up to the same snuff it had in its old timeslot.

Thursdays at 8:00 p.m. is a tough time, between "Survivor," "Joey" (yes, people are still watching) and the new hit "Everybody Hates Chris." Girl power is great and all that, but do people want to see TV's first pregnant superheroine? It certainly doesn't seem like it.

One month into season five, "Alias" has sunk to 70th place in the ratings, according to the Nielsens. E! also says that it was left off of ABC's ratings release, which is used to pump a weekly "look how great we're doing" jolt into the media.

Will the bouncing bundle bring new life into the show or will it just die off with a big bang of viewers in the last few weeks of what might be the last season? Stay tuned.

"Alias" airs every Thursday at 8:00 p.m. (EST) on ABC. For more "Alias" news, visit TVfodder's Alias News section. -- Rachel Cericola
