Today, Apple announced the slam dunk: the video iPod. Speculation has been going around about this little gem for quite some time, so it was really no surprise. The "say what" part of the announcement -- the part that made us take pause and reflect -- was that they've also entered into a deal with Disney, which would allow users to buy a copy of favorites such as "Desperate Housewives" and "Lost" to take anywhere -- the day after it airs.
CNN is wondering whether people will plunk down another couple hundred dollars to take TV and other video on the go. Um -- hells yeah we will! Admit it, you are a video junkie. It's OK. You are welcome here.
The new iPod will be available in black or white. A 30-GB version will run $299 or you can geek out with 60GB for $399. That big boy will hold about 150 hours of TV classics. Those downloads, which will also include music videos and Pixar shorts, will run about $1.99 each on iTunes. -- Rachel Cericola
