Hours Until Geraldo

geraldo.jpgTomorrow is Halloween, or as I like to call it: Geraldo Day. The Journal Times is reporting that Geraldo Rivera is coming back to TV tomorrow. Actually, he never really went anywhere; his name is just back in the title of the show.

"Geraldo at Large" is being billed as a serious news program, so no makeovers, fistfights or transvestites. In other words, no fun. Maybe Geraldo felt that Maury already had that side of "journalism" wrapped up. Sorry, but it's hard to take the guy seriously after that whole "Al Capone's vault" fiasco. It's burned into my memory for all of eternity.

Just as I was trying to give Geraldo the benefit of the doubt, KTVU.com reports my saving grace: That Geraldo's brother has been arrested for suspicion of drunk driving. While I typically wouldn't hold up Geraldo as his brother's keeper, the beauty of the whole thing was that he was arrested while producing a segment for the new show. Now that's good programming. Did I mention he was working on the story with former Los Angeles Police Department detective Mark Fuhrman? Take that Maury!

"Geraldo at Large" premieres Monday. Check your local listings for channels and showtimes. -- Rachel Cericola
