NBC finally signs a bi-racial comedy, and it seems, well, kind of goofy. Sci Fi Wire says that the Peacock has ordered a script called "Meet the Haunteds," based on the graphic novel. Good in print, but will it translate well to TV?
The half-hour comedy is about a white family that moves into a house haunted by a black family who lived there during the '70s. Maybe it will be a cross between "Medium" and "That '70s Show."
It's being executive produced by Chris Conti and Scott Mitchell Rosenberg ("Men in Black"), who described the project as a "supernatural culture clash," but in the same vein as "All in the Family." Huh.
Conti says, "(It won't be) just about black and white issues." That's right -- it will also be about ghost issues! Seriously though, I'm a sucker for comic books, so who knows. No writer or cast is attached yet. -- Rachel Cericola
