Gallagher Comes Alive

gallagher.jpgOne might expect to see Peter Gallagher on one of those celebrity sing-off shows, but not the Billboard charts. That's what makes it borderline bizarre to see E! Online reporting that "The O.C." star has an album coming soon.

Epic Records signed the sexy-eyebrowed TV dad after seeing him belt out "Don't Give Up On Me" in an episode last season.

"I know for a fact that there will be people who won't take my music seriously because I'm an actor on a TV show," Gallagher told E! Online. Hey -- at least he knows. Actually, seeing Gallagher sing isn't exactly novel; according to his IMDB.com entry, his singing career goes back to his days as a Tufts student.

The album, "7 Days in Memphis," is scheduled to hit shelves next month. Wisely, Gallagher plans to keep his day job on "The O.C.," which returns to Thursday nights on FOX after the World Series wraps up. -- Rachel Cericola
