When "Futurama" premiered in 1999, everyone expected the second coming of "The Simpsons." While the show found plenty of fans, FOX was never happy with Matt Groening's bastard child, and banished it to an early Sunday night timeslot, as well as a slew of other unmemorable spots.
Groening has maintained that FOX never understood it. "The Littlest Groom," however ... they never got stumped on that one. What's so difficult? Pizzaboy Fry is accidentally frozen and wakes up in the year 2999. Plenty of laughs ensue.
The show has found a nice resting place on Cartoon Network in its afterlife, and now Broadcasting & Cable says that Comedy Central plans to put the show into its regular rotation.
Unfortunately, the episodes won't start airing on Comedy Central until 2008. Talk about advanced notice. If you can't wait, well, you can just bite my shiny metal ass. -- Rachel Cericola
