Eriq La Salle Signs with CBS

lasalle.jpgWhy are so many people in a rush to check out of "ER?" I know at the time it probably felt like Eriq La Salle's character had run its course, but Dr. Peter Benton was the type of guy that you loved to hate, and hated the fact that you still had compassion for him. In other words, I could have hung in there with him for much longer.

After a few years away from TV, it was kind of shocking that Digital Spy is reporting that La Salle is coming back to TV. He signed a one-year talent and production deal with CBS, which basically means they want to keep him on the payroll without a project attached. The plan is to develop something with La Salle's Humble Journey Films. No word on what that project might be.

Hoepfully they will find a good piece for this talented guy. Otherwise, the doors to the "ER" are always open! For more info on what La Salle has been up to, check out his IMDB.com entry. -- Rachel Cericola
