Charles Rocket Dies

rocket.jpgActor/comedian Charles Rocket has died at the age of 56.

The funnyman's death was very sad -- not that there are many funny deaths. He was found near his Connecticut home on October 7, with his throat slit. Today, CNN is reporting that his death was actually a suicide.

Rocket, whose real name was Charles Claverie, was one of the post-Not Ready for Primetime Players from "Saturday Night Live." He was, in fact, not ready for primetime either, since he was fired in 1981 for saying the F-word during a live broadcast.

He went on to perfect the jerky guy character in movies such as "Dumb & Dumber," "Wagon's East" and "It's Pat." He also did extensive TV work, appearing regularly on shows like "Moonlighting," "Max Headroom" and "Touched By An Angel." -- Rachel Cericola
