CBS Salutes Johnny Cash

walkline.jpgGet ready for the man, the myth, the music special. Billboard is reporting that CBS will air a one-night tribute titled "I Walk the Line: A Night for Johnny Cash." The special is scheduled to air on CBS on Wednesday, November 16, just two days before Cash's big-screen biopic hits theaters.

Artists scheduled to appear include Foo Fighters, U2, Sheryl Crow, Kid Rock, Kris Kristofferson, Dwight Yoakham, Norah Jones, Alison Krauss, Jerry Lee Lewis, Martina McBride, Brad Paisley, Shooter Jennings and Jessi Colter.

Also expect stars of the new movie, "I Walk the Line." Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon will be introducing acts, as well as former biopic posterboy Dennis Quaid ("Great Balls of Fire").

The night will comprise video clips and a lot of Cash music, including "Folsom Prison Blues," "I Walk the Line" and the Johnny Cash/June Carter duet, "Jackson." CBS aired a similar tribute before "Ray" hit theaters last year, and look how well that did!

The one-hour special will air Wednesday, November 16 at 8:00 p.m. (EST) on CBS. -- Rachel Cericola
