ABC Signs John Heffron

heffron.jpgNBC's "Last Comic Standing" might have brought John Heffron to fame, but ABC is going to be the one signing his paychecks. Reality TV World is reporting that the network has signed the comedian to a six-figure development deal.

Heffron's reign as the second "Last Comic" winner was short, considering the Peacock rushed to get the third season on the air -- then cancelled it before the winner was revealed. Part of Heffron's prize included a development deal with NBC, but since he didn't win the third installment and the show sort of fizzled out, so did his impending TV career.

He always reminded me of Ray Romano. Considering Ray's track record, that might be a very good thing -- leaving Heffron with the last laugh. Currently, it's unsure whether ABC will give him his own show or cast him as someone else's wacky sidekick. -- Rachel Cericola
