"Rome" Gets Renewed

rome2.jpgToga! Toga! People must be chanting up a storm because with just three episodes in, the Hollywood Reporter says that HBO is already planning on a second season of "Rome."

The historical drama is a co-production between HBO and the BBC. Despite mixed reviews, the opening episode rallied 3.9 million viewers -- the same amount as the big finale of hit "Six Feet Under." For the second week, 3 million people hung on for the wild chariot ride. Apparently that was good enough for HBO, since they are starting production on 12 new episodes in March.

The second season of "Rome" will air on HBO in 2007. The first season is currently airing on HBO every Sunday at 9:00 p.m. (EST) -- Rachel Cericola
