Networks Plan Katrina Relief

hill_mcgraw.jpgI was wondering why reports were Hurricane Katrina telethons were popping up here and there. Even though all efforts are good efforts, there was something special about how all of the networks could put aside their petty ratings and rantings to simultaneously broadcast the 9/11 fundraiser a few years back.

Variety says one is a-go -- just not as quick as everyone was hoping for. The program had been scheduled for next Tuesday, but it doesn't seem like they are going to be able to pull it off that fast. Not to worry: A nationwide telethon is expected to air on ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, the WB and UPN -- and it's commercial-free. Although the date has yet to be confirmed, it is expected to air next Friday.

The TV relief efforts kick off tonight with NBC's "A Concert for Hurricane Relief." Mike Myers, Harry Connick, Jr., Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Wynton Marsalis, Lindsay Lohan, Hilary Swank, Leonardo DiCaprio, Claire Danes, Aaron Neville, Eric LaSalle, John Goodman and Eli Manning are among the ones locked in to perform. The concert is scheduled to air starting at 8:00 p.m. (EST) -- Rachel Cericola

What was the name of the young man after Mike Meyers who stated that George Bush doesn't care about black people?

That was Kanye West. He was the same guy that was having the MTV party this week, where Suge Knight was shot. He is making some serious news this week!
