Martin Sheen To Do Comedy

msheen.jpgA lot of people might find Martin Sheen funny, but he isn't exactly the face of TV comedy. Zap2it says that NBC is hoping that will change, since they signed him up for a project after his stint on "The West Wing" has completed.

Sheen will executive produce a comedy that's sort of based on his own family. Don't expect prostitutes and pills (now there's a sitcom!). Rumor has it that the plot follows a straight man moving in with his gay brother and his partner. Laughs ensue as the all three try to hide their situation from the straight man's mother-in-law. Can't you just feel the funny?

No word on casting or if the show will actually make it to air. Until then, you can catch Sheen's final days in office on "The West Wing," which premieres Sunday, September 25 at 8:00 p.m. (EST) on NBC. -- Rachel Cericola

Gees! John Lithgow, Peter Boyle, Martin Sheen ... Who will be next to plunge into the sitcom whirlpool? Jack Nicholson?

Hey, not bad. It could be called "Here's Johnny!"

I actually think Peter Boyle was awesome at it... but I wouldn't be surprised if we see Jack as the new wacky neighbor on "Will & Grace."
