FOX Plans Celeb "Skating"

When FOX yelled "All skate!," there were a few morons that actually decided that it sounded like a good idea. Zap2it is reporting that the no-shame network has actually roped six pseudo-celebrities into strapping on the skates and competing to see which couple will remain standing after six episodes.

Capitalizing (or copying) the success of ABC's "Dancing with the Stars," FOX's "Skating with Celebrities" pairs professionals with amateurs. The teams are:

  • Nancy Kerrigan and Dave Coulier (apparently he wasn't shamed enough on "The Surreal Life").
  • Tai Babilonia and former Wheaties spokesman/current plastic surgery spokesman Bruce Jenner.
  • Kurt Browning and Debby "Deborah" Gibson.
  • Jenni Menno and Todd Bridges ("Diff'rent Strokes").
  • Lloyd Eisler and the original "Buffy" Kristy Swanson.
  • John Zimmerman and "Good Day L.A." weathergirl Jillian Barberie.

Judges include Scott Hamilton and Dorothy Hamill. Viewers get no say, which is just as well. On behalf of all of us, we're already speechless. -- Rachel Cericola

This must be a fantastic idea, or it wouldn't be happening. Clever how they dress it up to look all stupid.

Fox advertises "Untrained Celebrities" when I hear Jillian bragging about be a professional figure skater in Canada, before moving to the states. I bet this idea was Jillians!
