Don Adams Dies

adams.jpgCNN is reporting that Don Adams has died at the age of 82. The comedian succumbed to a lung infection late Sunday.

He wasn't just a guy that talked into his shoe; he had distinct talent -- and it wasn't just in his voice. Although the spy spoof "Get Smart" was genius, kids of all ages might remember him as the voice of "Inspector Gadget." In fact, both have been turned into big-screen adaptations. "Inspector Gadget," starring Matthew Broderick, was released to mixed reviews back in 1999. A movie version of "Get Smart," starring Steve Carell, is currently in the pre-production phase.

Personally, it's just breaking my heart to know that my childhood buddy, Tennessee Tuxedo, is no more. Rest in peace, Don. -- Rachel Cericola

Don Adams was an extremely gifted entertainer, and his Maxwell Smart character will continue to bring laughs and smiles to generations to come!

I always watched "Get Smart" when I was growing up, and continue to watch today. It's a timeles show! No other actor could have portrayed Maxwell Smart with the comedic genius of Don Adams!

Rest in peace, Don.

I was so sad today when I browsed the Chilean main newspapers on the web. The fact that this is front page news in Chile should give you an idea of how much loved the character (86) is all the way down there. Is like losing a childhood friend for all of us.

Rest in peace with all our love, and thank you for all the good times.

Farewell to the legendary Don Adams. It was summertime back in the 70's, before cable, before even ON TV. We were blessed with three episodes of GET SMART every weekday. One at noon, one at 1 pm, and once again at 5:30. If our parents got home late from work, we'd get to watch all three. He would stumble, he would bumble, he would check his watch and spill his drink all over his lap, and my three brothers and two sisters would howl uproariously. God Bless you Don! You will be missed!
