Zap2it is reporting that several networks already have star-heavy telethons planned to benefit the victims of this week's Hurricane Katrina, which devastated areas of Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama.
"A Concert for Hurricane Relief" will air this Friday simultaneously on NBC, MSNBC and CNBC. Performances include Harry Connick, Jr., Wynton Marsalis and Tim McGraw -- all Louisiana natives.
BET is planning a telethon on Friday, September 9. Names have not been confirmed, but rumors of Russell Simmons and Jay-Z are already circulating on the Web.
The following day, MTV, VH1 and CMT will team up to support an ongoing call for relief. Live performances include Alicia Keys, Green Day, Ludacris, and others.
