USA Today says Sean Astin, who starred in all three fantasy flicks, is joining the cast of \"24.\"\n\nThe hit drama stars Keifer Sutherland as agent Jack Bauer. Astin will be a part of the Counter Terrorist Unit. The rest of the details about his character -- as well as much of the season -- seems to be top secret. \n\nHe's been keeping pretty busy since the trilogy ended in 2003. He currently has six films in various stages of the production process, including \"Click\" with Christopher Walken, Kate Beckinsale and \"50 First Dates\" buddy, Adam Sandler. \n\nThe fifth season of \"24\" will premiere over two nights on Fox, starting January 8.
