Rescue Me Gets Picked Up

leary.jpgDenis Leary is well known for his slightly angry comedy. Today, he might be a little off. The New York Daily News is reporting that his show "Rescue Me" has been picked up for another season.

The show has only average about 2.7 million viewers for the second season. It's still a smart move, considering the critically acclaimed drama was just nominated for two Emmys. Sadly, none of them were for Leary, who perfectly plays New York firefighter Tommy Gavin.

The second season finale of "Rescue Me" is scheduled for Tuesday, September 13 at 10:00 p.m. on FX. Production on the next season starts early next year. Expect the first of 13 new episodes to premiere in the second quarter of 2006. -- Rachel Cericola
