Former “Idol” Singer Sligh Releases Album

csligh.jpgChris Sligh, the quirky, curly-haired, chubby singer booted from last season’s “American Idol,” is the latest runner-up to release an album.

The new record, called ‘Running Back to You,’ hits stores on May 6, according to Entertainment Weekly. For all those Sligh fans who just can’t wait to hear his debut, check out his first single, “Empty Me,” unveiling this week on a radio near you. Sligh’s record will be released under the independent Brash Music label.

During this time last year, Chris Sligh was introducing the general public to bands like Mute Math and quickly becoming a favorite on “American Idol.” Unfortunately, his popularity peaked early and he landed in 10th place. He’s made quite the resurgence, though, and also plans to provide “Idol” coverage for EW this season. –Chris Sardelli
