The show obviously needed some filler tonight. At the 15-minute mark, we had no eliminations, no safe spots, and no Bon Jovi. Instead, we were treated to the typical show recap -- and a recap from the week before.
That's right -- they recapped Idol Gives Back. I know it's a good cause and all that, but can't Seacrest just continue to mention it a million times during the show? If I knew that I was going to have to endure the Elvis/Celine duet twice in my lifetime, I probably would have skipped last week's fundraising festivities.
Robin Thicke brought us tonight's out-of-place performance. The guy is a rising R&B star, but sadly, no relation to Alan Thicke. He can sing, but like Fergie's performance, his appearance seemed a bit bizarre. Was Bon Jovi unable to perform two songs?
Halfway through the show, Phil Stacey was sent packing. It was time. Phil seemed like a super-nice guy. However, that does not sell records. VFTW must be bumming hard -- unless Chris Richardson makes it through this week. I can't imagine who they'd pick if he has to catch a ride home with Phil.
In the second trio, Jordin was granted safety right off the bat, leaving Chris and Blake to wait through Bon Jovi. Could Blake possibly get the boot after last night's killer performance? Of course not. Blake owned the show last night, and his buddy was sent home.
By the way... Bon Jovi was slightly disappointing. It's not that they were bad, but I was really expecting them to kick out the jams considering the current theme. I understand it's their single, but they failed to rock me like a hurricaine. See you next week. -- Rachel Cericola
That's friggin' awesome! I knew he went by Thicke before, but had no idea he was related to Jason Seaver... thanks for pointing that out R.J.

Robin Thicke is absolutely a relation to Alan Thicke. He's the son of Alan Thicke and Gloria Loring. And you can really tell the resemblance in his current short-haired incarnation. Before, he used to have long straggly hair and mangy beard, and he went simply by the name "Thicke."
