Carrie Underwood Gets a Grammy

cunderwood.jpgLast night, "American Idol" winner Carrie Underwood carried on her winning streak. The country cutie scored two Grammy awards, one for best female country vocal performance and the other as best new artist.

She is the second "Idol" winner to take home Grammy gold. Kelly Clarkson also won two in 2006. Two other winners, Ruben Studdard and Fantasia Barrino, have also been nominated in previous years.

The country star also performed two songs during last night's show: The Eagles' "Desperado" and "San Antonio Rose," says Reuters.

Underwood took the "AI" title in season four, beating out rocker Bo Bice. -- Rachel Cericola
