American Idol: Rest of the Best Auditions

jtutor.jpgThis is it, everyone -- the final audition show. Apparently the producers could have gone on and on with the audition process, but they chose to lump the rest of the good, the bad and the ugly into one hour. Just like tonight's "Lost" recap!

Despite being the "best," there weren't a ton of highlights. Here's the recap...

• Christa Fazzino might not have made it to Hollywood, but she would be a prime candidate for TLC's "What Not to Wear."
• Tami Gosnell could be the lovechild of Carly Simon -- both in looks and voice (and I mean that in a nice way).
• It's hard to believe that Paul Kim was inspired by William Hung, since he could actually sing. However, I'm guessing that many others (not just ones shown in this episode) were inspired by William Hung.
• While I should award the contestants for their "never give up" attitudes, 98 percent of the time, it's just downright creepy.
• Where do I get one of those Randy (circa the Journey years) T-shirts??? I think we need to carry those in the Filmfodder Store.
• Just in case, here is the spelling for that restraining order: E-d-w-a-r-d S-a-n-c-h-e-z.
• Those three Picklers-in-training-wheels would be a great opening act for the Pussycat Dolls.
• Quote of the night: "I've always wanted to try out for American Idol. I'm American...."
• I'd like to leave Ashley Cleland with a line from "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" ... "You wear too much eye makeup. My sister wears too much. People think she's a whore."
• Speaking of scary: Can you imagine what's going to come in for that songwriting contest? Wow wee. I'd hate to be the intern that has to weed through that crap.
• Loved the montage on WES, known by his mama as William E. Samland. Unfortunately, only his mama could love that song.
• Anyone that has a wig fly off during their performance should get an automatic ticket to Hollywood.
• No more screen time for Ian Benardo, please. Aside from NYC, I have now seen him in two montages. I think I'm blind in one eye.
• Was there really not enough extra stuff to fill ONE hour, that they had to go back and highlight freaks from other episodes?

Well, we are finally on our way. I am ready to see some good singers, as well as some dreams shattered. See you next week. -- Rachel Cericola
