American Idol Fodder

Kellie Pickler Picked for Sitcom

kpickler.jpgLooks like Kellie Pickler is the "American Idol" after all. How else can you explain how she could turn "calamari" into a comedy deal?

E! Online is reporting that Fox is developing a sitcom for the AI finalist. Pickler will play a character based on her bubby self, except this naïve girl finds out that her real daddy is actually the governor. Wackiness ensues.

Chris Peterson and Bryan Moore, who wrote for "That '70s Show," are writing the script.

Pickler's debut album, "Small Town Girl," is currently in stores. -- Rachel Cericola
