Regis Returns to Primetime

regis.jpgWill Regis Philbin be the next Simon Cowell? Hardly -- but ABC News is reporting that Cowell has enlisted Regis to host his new prime-time talent competition, "America's Got Talent."

It's sort of a lame name, isn't it? And no offense to Regis, but isn't he sort of a lame host? He did great with the "Millionaire" gig, but he's not exactly a Simon, Randy or (hopefully) Paula. However, it's not just for singers; also expect dancers, comics, magicians and more. It really is sort of a catch-all for reality TV.

The winner will take home a million bucks. Something tells me that Regis is the real winner, but I have no clue how much he is pocketing for this.

"America's Got Talent" will debut June 21 on NBC. -- Rachel Cericola
