American Idol: Ace is Played

ace2.jpgRod Stewart seems like a nice guy, so I'm not going to comment too much on his performance tonight. It certainly wasn't bad. Maybe it's the anticipation of the elimination forthcoming. However, I would have enjoyed it a lot more if he came out in some spandex pants and belted out "Da Ya Think I'm Sexy."

The eliminations get more and more painful each week, don't they? Why put poor Taylor through the stress of choosing his bottom three? What purpose does that serve?

One thing I have learned from these groups they put everyone into: Always go with the least obvious. Taylor has learned this lesson as well, so it was no surprise that Elliot, Katherine and Kellie were safe.

On the other hand: Chris in the bottom three? I thought my TV was broken. Seeing him paired with Ace was nice though, because I knew that he was definitely going home.

While Ace gave a noble effort last night, he has been playing with borrowed time for a few weeks now. The audience picked the right guy to go, I think (and my man Elliot lives to sing another week!).

Next week's theme: the greatest love songs. After this week's performances, I am definitely psyched. -- Rachel Cericola

If I'm reading this correctly, Ace, Chris and Taylor were all in the bottom three. (I haven't seen the show yet, I'm in CA). That means that Kellie once again got away with her dumb blonde act. Who are these friggin' idiots who keep voting for her? While I don't disagree that Ace should go, if we vote solely based on last night's performace, Kellie was by far the worst of the bunch. Not even Simon's crush on her saved her from his criticism. I don't believe her dumb hick act one bit because that blonde sure knows exactly what to say and do to keep America tuned in to the show and THAT'S the only reason she's still around. She's a train wreck that you can't help but watch. But when the smoke clears and it boils down to talent, Little Miss SAL-mon will be crying her tarantula eyes out.

OK, sorry, I didn't read it correctly. Taylor is safe and it was Paris, Ace and Chris in the bottom three. Nonetheless, I still think Kellie is an idiot. And thank you for finally putting Ace and America out of our respective miseries.

Rod Stewart should be the one got booted. Man, how he sucked singing that beautiful song. I'm extremely embrassed for him. Come on, even any of those seven is ten times better than Rod, let alone Sinatra, Bennett, Buble, Connick.....I can't believe how the hell him albums outsell those guys. Surelly there are more tone deaf people out there buying records than I can ever imagine.

I have high hopes for this week. Hoping that someone sings Against All Odds (Chris? Elliot?) and also keeping my fingers crossed for some Journey.
