"American Idol" Almost Voted Paula Off

Every week, people ponder: "What the hell is wrong with Paula?" Apparently, we weren't alone in that line of thinking. IMDB.com says that producers actually wanted to oust the '80s pop star earlier this month.

Even after the whole Corey Clark incident last season, it's Abdul's recent behavior that had everyone in an uproar. Believe it or not, it was the behind the scenes behavior -- her crying and missing various meetings. Of course, they must have realized how much all of us appreciate a good trainwreck, and have decided to keep her.

The frightening part is that producers wanted to replace her with either Britney Spears of Jessica Simpson. Fellas: You don't replace one moron with another. However, I would love to see how an on-air Whitney Houston/Simon Cowell dynamic might explode each week.

Note to Paula: You have got a plumb gig, honey. Stop f-ing up already!
