Viva "Idol" in Vegas

It's funny that Simon Cowell would search for new talent in Las Vegas. Didn't he watch Vegas' "Idol" auditions? The Insider says he is heading back to Sin City -- not as a judge, but to produce a new talent competition for NBC.

This time, however, he's not looking for singers, per se. That's good, considering they didn't seem to have too many of those. The untitled show is looking for performers to be the next big Vegas act. Singers are welcome, as well as comics, magicians and anything else you could possibly imagine. I am picturing "The Gong Show" with sequined outfits.

The show is planned for a summer premiere. Cowell is also planning to launch "American Inventor" next month for ABC. Until then, you can see him Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. (EST) on Fox when "American Idol" goes to Boston. -- Rachel Cericola
