Fox Resigns Simon Cowell

cowell.jpgYou can stop worrying. Reality TV Magazine says that Fox has finally signed "American Idol" judge Simon Cowell to a multiyear deal.

Recently, there was some speculation that Cowell would not be returning to Fox's number one show. Big surprise, it had to do with money, which included the opportunity to sign "AI" winners as well as produce his own new programs. Also, the lawsuit between Cowell and "AI" creator Simon Fuller has been settled. No details about the settlement, but they are singing each other's praises so much, you'd think THAT would be televised.

The new deal will keep Cowell spewing his venomous insults for at least another five seasons, which also means to expect another five seasons of the reality show. In my opinion, he is actually the "American Idol." While I don't always agree with his opinions, his ability to air opinions guilt-free keeps things interesting.

"American Idol" is rumored to be returning in January. No word on an exact date or kick-off time. -- Rachel Cericola
