Diana DeGarmo Joins "Hairspray"
You don't need to win "American Idol" to get a good gig. ABC News says that third season runner up Diana DeGarmo has joined the Broadway cast of "Hairspray."
The 18-year-old came in second, right behind hit-maker Fantasia Barrino. She will take on the role of best friend Penny Pingleton in the stage adaptation of the John Waters cult film.
DeGarmo's first performance will be February 7 in New York City. -- Rachel Cericola

When I went with a couple of friends to go see hairspray last night in NYC! I was very suprised! Diana DeGarmo was HILLAREOUS!!! My friends and I were laughing all night, and couldn't get their song out of our heads. We sang and talked for 2 hours coming home to PA! The was Diana talked and danced, It was great!
