The Amazing Race Has Two Legs Going At the Same Time!

This week on The Amazing Race, the six remaining teams struggle their way to one million dollars. Teams left in the order that they arrived, as usual. The first clue tells the teams they must travel 5,000 miles to Warsaw, Poland. Once there they must find Czapski Palace, the childhood home of Frederick Chopin. Here they must find a Chopin look-alike playing the piano to get their next clue. Flights to Warsaw are limited and teams are provided with tickets that will get them to Warsaw the next day, in case they are unable to book any others. Teams are providede with $121 for this leg of the race.

Mirna & Charla, Danny & Oswald and Dustin & Kandice all end up waiting outside one travel agent. Uchenna & Joyce are at another agency that it also not yet open for business. Uchenna & Joyce decide to call another agency while they are waiting. It just so happens that they call the agency the other teams are waiting at and get helped just ahead of them. Ha ha. The other teams are not happy and are trying to convince the agent to hang up the phone on Uchenna because they were waiting first. Unfortunately for Uchenna & Joyce, they ask him to call back later. Bummer for them. Danny & Oswald kind of team up with Charla & Mirna at the agency. Dustin & kandice manage to get on a flight that will get them in areound 9:00, but no one else can get on that flight. Uchenna & Joyce are able to book a flight that will get them in a bit later than Dustin & Kandice. Eric & Danielle arrive at the agency only to find the other teams still waiting after 7 hours. They leave to find better prospects.Finally Charla & Mirna and Oswald & Danny manage to get on another flight that will get in around 9:45. Joe & Bill are so far behind, I can't imagine that they will be able to catch up. They arrive just in time to get on the provided flight with Eirc & Danielle. They get in late to Kilamanjaro and their connecting flight is leaving without them. They beg, plead and yell, but to no avail. The two teams go back to a hotel and agree to leave together in the morning.

Meanwhile for the teams that are still IN the race, Dustin & Kandice get their connecting flight, but Uchenna & Joyce are not able to get on. This puts Dusitn & Kandice in the lead. THey are the first team to arrive at Czapski Palace and find Chopin and their clue. The box they find, contains a DETOUR. Perfect Angle or Perfect Pitch. In Perfect Pitch, teams must travel to another location with pianos waiting. They must use the tools provided to tune one key on the keyboard. Once a concert pianist has played a Chopin piece and found their piano to be in tune, they will be given the next clue. In Perfect Angle, teams must travel to a boutique where they will pick up a mannequin and carry it down the street to the Panoramik laboratory. Once here, they must use an X-ray machine to find a clue hidden inside the mannequin. They must position the mannequin exactly right to see the clue.

Dustin & Kandice are kind of running away from everyone since they are so far ahead at this point. So, I am switching to talk about the other teams. Charla & Mirna are having a horrific time trying to get assistance. Their taxi driver takes them to the wrong location, kind of dropping them off in the middle of nowhere. People on the street ignore them, the go into a bank, or hotel and are hoping that someone here will be able to help them. I am not sure why they are having so much trouble, they are not even being their annoying selves at this point. Hmm. Danny & Oswald arrive next and choose Perfect Pitch. They manage to break one of the piano strings in the process. Charla & Mirna finally get some help and get sent in the right direction. They also choose Perfect Pitch. Charla & Mirna should not quit their day jobs to become tuners. They have the pianist try even though they are not done and seem really befuddled when he refuses to give them the clue. They eventually decide to give up and try their hand at Perfect Angle. They pick up their mannequin and roam the streets looking for Panoramik. Not even the police help them. They settle down with their mannequin and try to decide what to do. Finally a good samaritan helps them and takes them to their destination.

The other teams are so far behind, that if we are to believe the timeline the show has given us, Uchenna & Joyce arrive in Warsaw after the first team has checked into the Pit Stop. They also have been brought to the wrong place. They arrive in a school and are opening doors everywhere trying to find Chopin. Uchenna suspects they are in the wrong place, but Joyce keeps on looking. They eventually are told the right place and choose Perfect Pitch. It does not take them long.

Upon arriving at the next clue, Dustin & Kandice read through their clue, which says to search the area on foot for the next Pit Stop, warning the last team to check in may be eliminated. They hop some fences and start looking but decide to leave their packs on a couple of park benches. Since, TAR has chosen to show us this moment, I am guessing that it does not mean good things for them, but I was wrong. The teams arrive in the following order:

1. Dustin & Kandice who win trips for two to Puerto Rico
2. Danny & Oswald
3. Uchenna & Joyce
4. Charla & Mirna

Joe, Bill, Eric & Danielle are so incredibly far behind, that Dusitn& Kandice are actually starting the next leg of the race before the they finish. Phew. That is why I have not yet put in the final two. The next leg starts with Dustin & Kandice getting a clue that sends them to Auchwitz, Birkenau. They need to find a monument for the r
resistance force where they will pick up tickets to charter buses leaving 4 hours apart. They will then travel over 150 miles to Auchwitz. Danny & Oswald and Uchenna & Joyce also leave before the last two teams arrive.

Eric & Danielle choose Perfect Pitch and Joe & Bill choose Perfect Angle. Eric has no idea what he is doing and also manages to break a string. I think the pianist took pity on them, because it sure didn't sound in tune to me. (Did I mention I am a professional musician?). Joe & Bill are also having trouble with their X-rays. So, you are not in suspense anymore the last two teams to arrive are:

6. Joe & Bill
Lucky for Joe & Bill, this is not an elimination round. They are, of course, marked for elimination and since at least three other teams have already begun the next leg, I am not sure how they will catch up. We shall see.

Dustin & Kandice, Danny & Oswald and Uchenna & Joyce are all on the first charter bus. Which means the other teams are together on the second bus. Eric & Danielle are in the midst of a little lovers spat. Should be interesting to see what happens at the concentration camp. I can say from personal experience that visiting a concentration camp is a sobering experience to say the least. I visited Dachau once and it was a very sad, somber day. When the teams arrive it is night and there are many small candles lit to show them the way. Their clue is on a table and they pick it up and read about the 1 million people that were exterminated here. They are then asked to take a memorial candle to the railroad tracks and light it in remembrance. It is a sad, sad location.

The next clue tells the teams that they must choose another team and work together. It is the new-ish Intersection clue. Uchenna & Joyce team up with Danny & Oswald. There is also a Fast Forward on this leg. The first one we have seen so far. They decide to do the fast forward together. They must make their way to the center of town looking for two towers. They must climb the two towers and count the stairs in each. They must then add them together and give the total to the guard. If it is correct, the guard will give them the Fast Forward reward. This also means that Dustin& Kandice will have to wait for the next team to arrive before they can begin the next task. Danny, Oswald, Uchenna & Joyce manage to complete the Fast Forward. They may now skip all the tasks and go directly to Pieskowa Skala Castle, the Pit Stop for this leg of the race. Of course, this means they are all team number 1. But there is only one prize. Danny & Oswald gladly give it to Uchenna & Joyce. That was very sweet.

Dustin & Kandice decided to work with whomever came first. They are now working with Charla & Mirna. The first clue is a Detour. Teams must choose between Eat It Up or Roll It Out. In Eat It Up, the teams make their way to the Zaprasamy do Srodka market where each team member must use tradiational methods to make one 3 inch ink of ielbasa sausage. After finishing, the teams will be served 8 feet of cooked sausage. Once EACH member has eaten 2 feet of sausage, they will be given their next clue. In Roll It Out, teams must go to a bakery and use traditional methods to properly roll out 20 bagels. Then they will walk 1/4 mile to deliver a fresh bakery delivery for the headwaiter who will give them their next clue. DKCM decide to do Eat It Up. EDJB decide to Roll It Out. DKCM arrive at the market and begin making sausage. EDJB are having trouble finding the bakery. The sausage makers finish the making part rather quickly. Now, the eating part can begin. This is totally crude, I know, but watching Mirna try to eat her sausage is like watching bad porn. Sorry, had to be said. At least they said it tastes good. EDJB change their minds and arrive at the sausage maker. Danielle is not certain that she can eat tat much sausage. Now it isa an eating contest. Funny funny funny. Danielle is actually eating better than Eric. Ha! Charla, however, is having a lot of difficulty getting it down. For a minute I wonder if I am watching Fear Factor as Miss California looses the food she has finished. Not to be outdone, Charla, who doesn't think she can physically fit any more food into her stomach, begins trying to empty it out. Taking a knife and trying shove it down her throat to make herself barf. Yup.. The noises she makes are quite interesting too. She finallyu manages to get herself going so to speak. The race is definitely on! They are neck and neck in the eating department. EDJB are finished first and read their next clue. they must now go to the town of Skala. They are provided with cars to get them there. They will make their way to the castle to look for their next clue. Dustin & Kandice get away first and are following a taxi driver. Charla & Mirna try to follow a taxi too, well two taxis but the drivers want $100 that they don't have. Mirna manages to get them down to $50. Eric & Danielle also follow a taxi, while Joe & Bill go buy a map.

Arriving at their next destination, the clue they recieve asks them "who wants to be a knight in shining armour?". This ROADBLOCK has one team member put ona suit of armor and lead a horse half a mile to the castle gates, after giving the horse to a stable boy, they will go into the courtyard to find the Pit Stop. Poor Charla could barely move with all that extra weight and her horse was not inclined to cooperate. Lucky for them, Joe & Bill have a 30 minute penalty to worry about. The teams arrive in the following order:

3. Dustin & Kandice
4. Charla & Mirna
5. Joe & Bill but they have a penalty, so that means that really
5. Eric & Danielle
6. Joe & Bill they are eliminated from the race.

Whew that was a long race! I wonder what is in store for them on the next leg.
