This year, 30 Rock goes up against Glee, Modern Family and Nurse Jackie for Best Comedy Series.
Alec Baldwin (who recently announced that he will be leaving 30 Rock when his contract ends in 2012) was nominated for Outstanding Actor in a Comedy Series. He issued a statement, saying "Once again, I am grateful and delighted to be nominated. And I am deeply indebted to Tina, Robert Carlock, Lorne, Marci Klein and Jeff Zucker."
In her response to her nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series, Tina Fey responded in a statement, "This is great news. We're grateful and excited. Especially since today is the fifth anniversary of the day NBC forgot to cancel us."
Jane Krakowski was also nominated for best supporting actress in a comedy series. She issued her statement, "This is such exciting news! It is such an honor to be included in this group of funny talented women! I am indebted to Tina Fey and the greatest comedy writing team on television. I am going to celebrate by eating a piece of cheese. Just kidding, designers, I promise, no cheese will cross these lips or hips until after the ceremony."
In addition to the cast members, guest stars Jon Hamm, Will Arnett, and Elaine Stritch were each nominated for their appearances on the show.
30 Rock was also nominated for art direction, cinematography, costumes (for the I Do Do episode), webisodes and editing. The show also received an Emmy nomination for the writing for both the Anna Howard Shaw Day episode, and the Lee Marvin Vs. Derek Jeter episode.
