Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello is reporting that funny girl Elizabeth Banks will be joining the cast of 30 Rock, albeit on a temporary basis. Word is she'll be playing another of Jack's rapidly-growing list of love affairs. According to Ausiello's sources, Banks will appear in at least four episodes.
She'll join the ranks of such top talent as Edie Falco (who played Jack's unabashedly Democratic fling for a few eps back in Season 2) and Julianne Moore--who begins her brief story arc this week as Jack's high school crush. (And anyone who has seen Evolution should know that Ms. Moore can play comedy well.)
Do you think Banks and Moore can help bring 30 Rock up to the same level of funny that we had during the Edie Falco days of yore? Or has the shark been effectively jumped? Or (like me) do you think the show is just as funny--and unfunny sometimes--as ever?
