30 Rock Fodder

30 Rock: Finale Guest Star... (SPOILER)

Clay-Aiken.jpgBaltimore's Pop Culture Examiner tells us that Clay Aiken is reportedly going to appear in the season finale of "30 Rock" this year. No word on what character he'll play, but I bet it will be adorable and make me feel angry and conflicted.

This season hit us over the head with big stars early on, most notably Oprah and Steve Martin, but it feels like it's been a while since they've had a celebrity cameo. (No offense, Salma Hayek. You just fit in with the rest of the cast so well it doesn't really feel like a "celebrity guest" stunt.)

What do you think? Does Clay have you Aiken to watch the finale, or would you sooner vote this episode off? (Ugh. My apologies to anyone with a decent sense of humor.)

Are you being sarcastic? I wouldn't miss this episode for anything. Clay Aiken has an incredible sense of comedic timing - as evidenced in his role in Spamalot on Broadway - and is very talented. He'll fit in quite well with Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin. Anything else you may or may not have been suggesting is disrespectful. I don't get your comment about people with a decent sense of humor. But you did get google alerts on your piece so...........

I certainly am Aiken to see this episode with Clay. He is a wonderful actor and and has a real gift for comedy.

I can't wait to see Clay on "30 Rock". The show is great and so is Clay. What a fantastic finale this will be.

Can't wait.

I will be watching this episode. I did try to watch it earlier on, but just couldn't enjoy it. It was the #1 show, so I thought it would be good. Maybe I didn't give it enough of a chance, but I will most definitely watch it with Clay Aiken on it.
Yes..........He is that GOOD!
Yes..........I am a Claymate!!

I'm so there!

I've seen the guy on Jimmy Kimmel & Leno. He's a hoot!! I'll try to catch it. Finale's are usually the best anyway!

Anyone who can make it on Broadway can make it anywhere. Aiken had 2 well received runs in a Comedy musical. This is enough reason to watch it for me because now I'm curious who he will play. I hope it is a relative of Kenneths or that Kenneth is a big fan and has a reaction to meeting Clay like that guy on the season 5 finale who nearly had a heart attack when he saw his Idol appear unexpectedly on stage. It was Priceless!

Mike Nichols & Eric Idle thought enough of Clay's acting & comedic talents to have him play Sir Robin, successfuly, in Spamalot for most of 2008. He can certainly do a cameo.

Liked your lead in headline from your main page.

Wasn't Patti Lupone a guest star a few weeks ago?

And what is the difference between a cameo and a guest star anyways.

Very much looking forward to seeing Aiken. Love the show too.

Good thing I don't have a decent sense of humor.
Look on the bright side, list we have something in comon, he he.

Make fun of me all you want peeps, but I love the guy somethin' fierce. He always makes me laugh. Can't wait!

Aiken was hilarious as Sir Robin in Spamalot. A cameo on 30-Rock will be a piece of cake for him. Can't wait to see what they'll have him do.

-- Posted by: Pat at March 18, 2009 5:15 PM

You can bet I will watch!! Love the show! Aiken will be great.

-- Posted by: Debbie at March 18, 2009 5:32 PM

Wow, you bet I will be watching!!

30 Rock is the funniest show on tv. I wouldn't miss the season finale. I think whatever they have Clay do, he will be great.

For sure I will be watching. Love Clay Aiken!!! His concerts are so much fun.
AND that amazing voice...

I'm there!

Clay's a very funny guy. Of course I'll be watching!

-- Posted by: Holly at March 19, 2009 2:56 AM

Without a doubt, I WILL be watching Clay. I love his voice and after seeing
him play the role of Sir Robin in Spamalot, he's an amazing actor too.
Can't wait to see him.

Did you know that in the original casting call, the character of "Kenneth the Page" was described as "a Clay Aiken type"? My bet is "Kenneth" will discover they're related somehow. Should be pretty funny - this show always is.

-- Posted by: sam at March 19, 2009 1:04 PM

I'm hearing a lot of speculation that he's going to be related to Kenneth somehow. That makes sense to me. But it's 30 Rock. It'd be just like them to make him related to Tracy Jordan, instead.

Still, my money is on a long-lost cousin kind of storyline. Who knows, maybe he'll be playing himself AND be related to Kenneth. That would be an interesting twist...

-- Posted by: Bobby Bierley at March 19, 2009 1:09 PM

He has so much onstage charisma. I always enjoy watching him and hearing him sing.

-- Posted by: joan at March 20, 2009 9:35 AM

He kinda looks like he could be Kenneth's brother, maybe he'll be a recurring character. I've never seen "Idol," but good enough for Monty Python is good enough for me...

matt ballinger is going to be on the finale.
