Some disappointing news for you "24" fans.

First up, Co-creator and Executive Producer Joel Surnow has clocked out of 24. Surnow's contract with FOX TV was scheduled to expire on April 30, 2008, but he negotiated an early release of February 13, 2008 so that he could start working on new projects. Hmmm, wonder how this will affect the show?

Next up, looks like Jack won't be saving the day this season. The word is not official but seems that Day 7 will not be airing till 2009. This will make the hiatus 19 long months. The reasoning is that 24 is best viewed as 24 back to back episodes (goes along with whole title of the show thing) and there are only 8 that have been taped. Now that the Writer's Strike is officially over, it would be a bit of a time crunch to get 16 more episodes taped. Hopefully with this extremely long break, Day 7 will come back strong in 2009 and seriously make up for the crap that was Day 6. We have faith in you Jack.

Ahhh....the Writers Strike....while I completely agree with it, I also completely hate it. Mostly because 24 will not be airing Day 7.

Here's the news:

"Fox on Wednesday became the first broadcast network to announce a strike-affected midseason schedule minus its signature drama "24."

Faced with the possibility of a partial Season 7 of "24," Fox has opted not to air the real-time drama at all this season.

"It's not a decision we wanted to make, but it's one based on how we feel the viewers expect us to schedule the show," said Preston Beckman, Fox's scheduling chief.

The decision to act quickly so early in the strike also was prompted by the large amounts of marketing money associated with the premieres of new series and the annual launch of "24." The network began airing promos for the upcoming season of "24" during the World Series and on a big screen in Times Square.

Fox's high-profile new drama "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles," originally slated to run in tandem with "24," will now premiere Sunday, Jan. 13, and will air in "24's" Monday 9 p.m. time slot, following "Prison Break" and new reality series "When Women Ruled the World."

Well ladies and gents, unless some kind of resolution happens soon, I'll be out of a blogging job. And not being able to make fun of, appreciate, and sarcastically comment on 24 will leave me heart broken. JACK, it's up to you to save the day....

5 AM - 6 AM

The second half of the season finale picks up with Josh getting to the oil rig. He is not happy with gramps and gets even more unhappy when he hears Cheng tell Phillip that the sub will pick them up in the next 30 minutes. The medics are still on the beach working on Doyle and Jack and Bill are waiting to hear which oil rig Jack's father is on. Morris is sitting with Chloe in medical when the doctor tells them that she is fine. Mostly dehydrated and sleep deprived. The doctor wants to run a few more tests and Chloe tells Morris that he needs to get back to work that she will be fine. Nadia find an oil rig that has supposedly been decommisioned. Morris runs a nifty thermal scan and finds warm bodies all over the rig. Morris calls the doctor and wants to know what the test results have revealed. The doctor tells Morris that they are no longer married and therefore he is not privy to that information. Daniels is in a meeting with Tom and the defense secretary Kanin when he learns that Phillip is on the oil rig. Kanin suggests that they just blow up the whole rig for good measure and therefore ensuring that the circuit board would be destroyed. Tom protests the killing of an innocent boy, but Daniels thinks this is this solution to prevent them from going to war with Russia.

As Doyle is being loaded into the ambulance he apologizes to Jack for not listening to him (lots of apologies going on in these two episodes). Nadia calls Jack with the information that Daniels is going to blow up the oil rig. Daniels certaintly has a thing for blowing stuff up. Nadia tells Jack and Bill to come back to CTU and Jack agrees on the phone. However, Jack of course has other plans and he tells Bill that he is going to use the CTU chopper to rescue Josh. Bill tells Jack that he'll fly and help cover him. Bill is just racking up the action in these final 2 hours. Jack agrees to the help. The two get suited up and Jack tells the pilot that he and Bill are comandeering his chopper. Bill takes over and they fly off into the sunset. Also heading into the sunset are the F-18's.

Daniels gets on the phone with Suvarov and lets him know of their plan. Suvarov agrees that it would work and Daniels links him to the satellite to show the progress of the F-18's and an image of the oil rig. Suvarov also gets confirmation that a Chinese sub is headed to the oil rig, so he knows that Daniels is not lying. Morris tells Nadia that Jack and Bill have hijacked a CTU chopper and that Jack wants access to the satellite. Nadia gets on the radio with Jack and tells him that he is crazy and is trying to commit suicide for the second time today. Bill gets on and tells Nadia that this is the right thing to do. She respects her mentor and agrees to help. Jack and Bill decide that they will land on top of the oil rig. The F-18's have locked the oil rig onto their target. Josh is still pleading with his grandfather to let him go when Cheng tells him about the chopper. He tells Phillip to get on a small boat that has a locator beacon and he gives the circuit board back to Phillip while he goes to take care of Jack.

With Jack firing at the guards, Bill manages to land the helicopter. Jack and Bill start shooting out the oil containers which cause explosions. Jack captures Cheng and sends him back to the chopper with Bill. Jack tells Bill he is going to find Josh and Bill reminds them that they only have 10 minutes until they are shark bait. Phillip is dragging a crying Josh down the platform and berates him for acting like child. Josh lashes out and Phillip warns him to keep his emotions in check. They arrive at the boat and Phillip stupidly sets his gun down while untying the boat. Josh instead picks up a wrench and hits Phillip over the head, he THEN picks up the gun and threatens Phillip with it. Phillip tells Josh that he won't shoot him and of course Josh does, hitting Phillip in the shoulder. Jack arrives and tells Josh to put the gun down. At first it seems that Josh is going to get all ballsy and kill his grandfather but he lowers the gun. Jack sends him back to the helicopter and tells him that he is right behind him. Phillip tells Jack that he does not have time to carry him back to the chopper and he knows that Jack does not want to die with him. Jack agrees but tells Phillip that he is getting off too easy. Jack walks of and leaves his father to die.

Nadia lets Bill know that he has 90 seconds to get moving. Josh runs up and gets in the chopper. Bill lets down the ladder. Kanin gives the fighter jets the okay to fire. Bill tells Jack to meet him on the side and he will swing by and pick him up. Bill does so and Jack jumps onto the ladder and they fly off into the sunset again as the F-18's blow up the oil rig. Nadia radios Bill and he tells her that he Josh and Jack are alive and they also have Cheng in custody. Kanin reports that the target has been completely destroyed. Suvarov sees this on the live feed and is satisfied with the outcome. He tells Daniels that he will pull out his troops. Near the shore Jack drops from the ladder. Bill swings around and Josh points out that Jack made it to shore. Jack walks to the beach and raises a hand to Bill. Bill nods with understanding and Josh wants to know why they aren't getting Jack. Bill tells him that Jack isn't ready to go back yet. The Chinese have pulled out their sub, but Daniels knows that he needs to contend with them, just on another day. Tom asks Daniels to let Karen and Bill resign so that their reputations are not destroyed. Daniels agrees and Tom drops the tape recorder on the table that he was going to use against Daniels and walks out of the room.

Morris goes to see Chloe and tells her that he wants to know what is going on. He tells her that he still loves her and was worried that he was going to lose her. Chloe tells him that's good because she is pregnant. Tom goes to Karen and tells her that her and Bill are pardoned and they will just have to resign. Karen thanks him and Tom tells her that he might actually miss her, but she needs to leave for him to find out. Karen smiles and breathes a sigh of relief. Bill arrives back at CTU where Marilyn is reunited with Josh. Cheng tells Bill that his people will not abandon him like the U.S. did Jack Bauer. Nadia wants to know where Jack is, but Bill tells her that Jack will not be found unless he wants to be found.

Jack shows up at Secretary Hellers house and wants to see Audrey. He tells Heller that he just watched his father die and did not feel a thing. He tells Heller that he looked up to him like a father and that he respected him, but that respect is gone now. Jack asks Heller why he didn't get him out of China when Heller was the one with the power to do so. He tells Heller that Heller was mad at Audrey not because she went looking for Jack but because she did so when Heller told her not to. Jack tells Heller that all he has ever done is what people like Heller tell him to do. Jack tells Heller he will never understand what loyalty is. Heller tells Jack that he will not be able to take care of Audrey the way he wants to because sooner or later he will be drawn back into the game. Heller brings up Jack's dead wife and begs him to do the right thing for Audrey. Jack still demands to see Audrey. Heller leads him to the bedroom. Jack sits down in front of an unconsious Audrey. He tells her that he is sorry that he couldn't protect her and that he is at a crossroads because now the only way to protect her is to let her go. He tells her that he loves her more than anything and always will. He kisses her on the forehead and gets up and leaves. Jack walks out the edge of the property and looks out over the cliffs and contemplates what the next day will bring.

Final Thoughts: The producers wrapped up a number of the characters story lines and next season will probably have a new cast. I read an article (CNN I think) that discussed a revamp of 24 (which is much needed) with a new cast and possibly another location besides L.A. With Chloe being pregnant and Bill having to resign they probably will not return which I think are two of the most popular characters on the show. I think neglecting to leave the show with some big cliff hanger was the right move to try and make the series fresh next season and hopefully there won't be any pointless story lines (i.e. President Logan and pill poppin Martha).

Day 7 starts January 2008 on Fox.

4 AM - 5 AM

The two hour season finale picks up with Josh and Doyle in the helicopter. Josh wants to know why he isn't going back to CTU and Doyle tells him that he is being given to his grandfather to save the country from going to war. Josh, not caring much about the whole war concept does not want to go. Doyle promises him that he will get him back (sounds like something Jack would say) and injects his wrist with a tracking device. Jack meanwhile is arguing with the agents that they are stupid for handing Josh over to his father. But the agents say they have their orders and Jack is to be detained once again. Jack gets on the phone with Chloe and wants to know what is going on. She tells him how Daniels made the deal with his father and Jack tells her that it's a bad idea but his father will never hand over the circuit board. He'll need it for leverage with the Chinese. Daniels is on the phone with Suvarov and is all but begging the man to call off the attack. He tells Suvarov about the trade, but Suvarov holds firm that they will have no choice but to attack if the circuit board is not recovered.

Jack decides that he is not getting the answers or results that he needs from Chloe, and calls up Karen. She leaves the meeting in the oval office to take the call. Jack tells Karen what he told Chloe and Karen agrees that it is a bad idea, but Daniels feels that it is the only way to prevent war. Jack tells her that she has to do whatever it takes to stop this trade from happening because he is in CTU custody and unable to do anything himself. Karen goes to Tom and tries to get him to help her go around the VP's back. He tells her no because their relationship is rocky at best considering that whole blackmail and treason shennanigans. Tom tells Karen that he will however look the other way if she takes it upon herself to help out Jack. Karen calls Bill's cell but he ignores the call. Seems Bill is still a little miffed about his wife firing him. On a personal note though, i'm glad to see that Bill is back for the finale. The FBI is at his and Karens house going through stuff. Karen calls the house phone and tells Bill that she really needs his help that she has no one else to go to. Bill picks up and wants to know if she is alright. She says that she is and apologizes once again. She then tells him about the trade and asks him to do whatever he can to stop it.

The CTU chopper with Doyle and Josh land on a beach. They get out and wait at a picnic table to hear from Phillip. Phillip calls Doyle's phone and Morris patches in so that CTU can hear the call. Phillip tells Doyle to have CTU shut down their satellites. Morris confirms that Phillip is in their system but can't figure out how. CTU shuts down the satellites but Phillip can't see the tracker in Josh's arm. Phillip then tells Doyle to dismiss the helicopter and that he wants to talk to Josh. Josh tells his grandpa how much he hates him but Phillip says that he won't be safe because of Graems involvement. Phillip wants to make Josh into the man that his father should have been. Phillip tells his men to go get Josh. Doyle tells Nadia that he will want to know if the circuit board is authentic and Chloe tells him that he can hook it up to his PDA (of course) and that she will be able to tell. Doyle tells Nadia that he plans to rescue Josh if he sees a chance and she orders him not to do so.

Karen calls Nadia and tells her that she wants the access code to view the satellite image of Jack's transfer. Nadia is clearly annoyed, but does as she is told. Nadia gets a another call that Marilyn is causing a scene because she wants to know what is going on with Josh. Nadia tells Marilyn that Josh is at division for questioning, but Marilyn tells her that he is minor and should have her with him. She threatens to call her lawyers and have Nadia fired. Nadia tells Morris to send additional security and he does so without hesitation. Chloe makes a face and wants to know why Morris is being such a good dog when he knows that the trade is wrong. In response Morris tells Doyle that he fully supports what is happening because he thinks it is the best thing. Doyle doesn't see it that way and tells Morris to keep his opinions to himself.

Jack's transport gets run off the road by a truck. While an agent gets out to check on things Jack steals the second agents gun and knocks him out. Bill gets out of the truck and walks towards the agent with his hands raised. Jack uses the distraction to knock the other guard out at well. Bill tells Jack that the trade has not happened yet and they head off to stop Doyle. Milo's brother Stewart arrives at CTU to collect the body. Chloe rushes to him and hugs him and Nadia sends Morris over to find out who it is. He reports back that it is Milo's brother. Karen realizes that her access to the grid has been blocked. She calls Bill to tell her that the agents are on their way to arrest her. She apologizes once again and tells Bill goodbye because she doesn't know when she will be able to talk to him again. The agents arrive to detain her. Nadia approaches Stewart and she admits that Milo died while saving her life. Srewart tells her that Milo talked about her and that he was in love with her. Chloe interupts the touching moment to tell Nadia that Bill sprung Jack from the CTU agents and that Bill agrees the trade is wrong as well just to rub it in Nadia's face. Nadia orders teams to retrieve Jack and Bill.

On the beach Josh is still begging Doyle not to hand him over to his psychotic grandfather but Doyle assures him that he will get him back. Nadia lets Doyle know that Jack is on his way with Bill. Doyle knows that tac teams can't move in because Phillip will know. He tells Nadia that he will take on Jack himself. Yeah, good luck with that. Daniels comes in to see Karen and tells her how dissapointed he is. She sticks to her beliefs and tells Daniels that they are making a grave mistake and that she did learn from Fayed never to negotiate with a sociopath. Daniels doesn't care and tells Karen that she and Bill will receive the strictest punishment and that it will be her fault if the Russians attack. Phillip calls Doyle and tells him to walk Josh towards the shoreline. Two men approach the shore on a small boat and walk over to Doyle he tells them to lay down the circuit board so that he can test it to make sure it is real. When Doyle opens the box it explodes and sends him flying backwards. The two men grab Josh and take off in the boat. Jack and Bill pull up and see Josh being taken away. They don't have a shot without hitting Josh. They find Doyle on the beach whose eyes are bloody and he tells that the board was a fake.

Phillips men scan Josh and find the locator, they short it out and Chloe realizes that they have lost Josh. Morris goes to pull the satellites back up. Jack calls Nadia and lets her know that he was right along. He tells her that the component was a fake and to send help because Doyle has been badly injured. Nadia is upset over the news. Daniels is pissed over the news of the failed trade and realizes that Karen was right and that Palmer had been right along as well. Tom tells him that in light of the current situation that he should let Karen go. Daniels says he will figure it out later. The trauma team arrive at the beach and determine that Doyle will be blind in one eye and maybe both. Nadia apologizes to Jack and tells him that she should have listened to him. Jack realizes that Josh is probably being taken to an oil platform because his father owns a few. Chloe goes off to research the oil rigs and Morris notices that she is looking rather pale. Phillip and Cheng are waiting at the oil rig and Phillip tells Cheng he will get the circuit board as soon as Josh arrives. Phillip tells Cheng that China is is future, whatever that means. Chloe stumbles over to talk to Morris about the oil rigs and Morris wants to know if she is okay, she says she is fine as she passes out on the floor. Morris rushes over and calls out for help.

3 AM - 4 AM

Marilyn is starting to get hysterical as Zhou sends Josh away with some guards to go meet Cheng. Zhou threatens to shoot her but Jack runs over to comfort her. Zhou tells CTU that they are going to be put in a secure room until he and his men leave. The gunmen take Josh and drag him back down the sewers. Zhou has the hostages get into two groups. The first group leaves and Jack tells Marilyn to go to the front of their group and that he will try and go after Josh. Jack gets Nadia and tells her that they have to fight before they are locked into a room. Jack tells Morris to look alive and Chloe wants to know what is going on. Jack, Nadia and Morris each take down a guard with Jack breaking Zhou's neck. Just as a gunman is about to shoot Nadia, Doyle shoots him dead. Seems the calvary has arrived.

Jack tells Doyle about Cheng wanting Josh. Jack starts to give orders when Nadia tells him that he is still under arrest....but, she'll let him go and Doyle is in charge. Looks like Doyle is finally getting his wish this is an honor that was never bestowed upon Curtis. Nadia tells Doyle about Milo and Doyle asks how she is doing. Nadia admits that she is not good. They are interupted by Jack who doesn't have time for hear to hearts. Nadia gives Jack her cell phone and he tells her that she did a good job. Chloe also tells Nadia that she was brave, but Nadia doesn't look so sure. Jack and Doyle head into the sewer after Jack.

Josh reaches Cheng and Cheng calls up Phillip Bauer. Phillip wants to talk with Josh. Josh is pretty pissed at ole grandpa and reminds him that he threatened to kill him a few hours ago. Phillip scoffs at this idea and tells Josh that he is the legacy of the company and that he is taking him to China. OKAY gramps. Josh tells Cheng not to take him to Phillip but Phillip has something that Cheng wants so not going to see Phillip is out of the question. Before Cheng can drive off Jack and Doyle appear and shoot Cheng's cars and guards. Cheng takes off with Josh as a shield. Jack gives chase and radios Doyle that they are headed to the roof of the building. Josh manages to kick Cheng and escape. Jack takes out Chengs guard and orders Cheng to surrender. Josh falls into a hole and cries out for help. When Jack looks down Cheng escapes (more like vanishes in the 2 seconds it takes Jack to look down). Jack saves Josh.

Josh decides to let Jack know that he talked to Phillip and that Phillip has apparently surpassed any sort of level of sane. Jack doesn't seem suprised and promises Josh that he'll get him back to Marilyn. Jack lets Doyle know about his father's involvement with the Chinese and Doyle wonders why. Jack tells him that he will ask him as soon as he finds his father. Karen meets with Daniels to tell him that the Russians are within striking distance of their base. She asks where Tom is and he tells her. He also tells her about his affair with lisa. Karen tries to reassure him. Meanwhile Tom and team are getting a live porno feed of Lisa and Bishop. Bishop wants to know why Lisa seems distance. She tells him that she is fine and goes to the bathroom. Bishop goes to her purse and gets her PDA, but he thinks twice about downloading the emails and puts it back. As Bishop and Lisa are having a glass of wine he asks her what is really going on. Lisa smashes the wine bottle over his head and wants to know why he has been spying for the Russians. Bishop hits Lisa back. Tom and team rush from the van. Bishop wants to know who knows about him and he starts to choke Lisa. She passes out as the agents enter the room. Tom explains that they know what he is doing and that he is to upload the fake emails and call his handler. Tom tells him that he will get the death penalty if he doesn't comply. Cheng calls Phillip to let him know that Jack has Josh. Phillip tells him too bad on the circuit board. Cheng tries to threaten Phillip but it's pointless to threaten a crazy man.

Back at CTU a team from Division arrives about the security breach. Ben Kram lets Nadia know that her lack of leadership is what got everyone killed. Morris tells Nadia not to let Kram get to her. Naida feels guilty and says she should not have hesistated to stand up and then Milo would be alive. Morris tells her nonsense and that MIlo would want her to stay strong and in charge. Tom lets Daniels know that the emails were sent. He tells him to call Suvarov to confirm and he also tells Daniels that Lisa suffered some brain damage. Daniels is visibly upset but Karen tells him that he must focus for the phone call with Suvarov. The satellites cannot pick up any sign of Cheng. Jack calls Marilyn and tells her that Phillip wanted Josh but that he is safe and being sent back to her.

Daniels gets on the teleconferene with Suvarov and tells him that the component has been recovered and that it was destroyed while taking out the Chinese. Suvarov calls Daniels on his lie because he had men watching Bishop's apartment and he knows that the emails were fake. Suvarov gives Daniels 2 hours to get the component back or he is going to attack. Tom is heading into the military briefing that Daniels has called when he gets a cryptic phone call. He enters the meeting and tells Daniels and Karen that Phillip Bauer is on the phone and wants to speak with Daniels. Phillip tells the president that he will hand over the component if he can promise safe passage for him and Josh to any country of Phillips choosing. He says that the Chinese had their chance and now he is giving Daniels one. He tells Daniels that he will call back with details and hangs up before Daniels can reply.

Karen tells Daniels that this is ridiculous and that he cannot seriously be thinking of conspiring with a sociopath. She starts listing Phillips rap sheet and Daniels says that he knows what Philip is capable of. Tom agrees with the President that it might be the only way to avoid a war. Tom thinks that Suvarov is being squeezed by military generals still in office who hate the U.S. and who are looking for any excuse to attack. They have to retrieve the circuit board. Jack is leading Josh to the car and Josh wants to know what Jack plans on doing when he finds his father. Jack tells him that he has all kinds of fun things planned for him. Maybe even death. Doyle suddenly grabs Josh and ushers him towards a helicopter. Jack rushes after but is held back. Doyle tells him that he has orders and that Jack is to go back to CTU. The helicopter flies off. Doyle seriously needs to grow a backbone and stop making these stupid moves. One minute he is saving Nadia and letting Jack knock him out and the next he is letting the Chinese get the circuit board by foiling Jacks plan and taking Josh to hand him over to a psycho. Come on Doyle, get it together.

Next week is the 2 hour season finale. Hopefully the directors will get it right and we'll have a decent cliff hanger.

2 AM - 3 AM

SORRY SORRY SORRY for not posting this last night. I have no idea where my mind goes sometimes. I know most people are as annoyed with this season as I am, but still I apologize for being late on the recap.

So Nadia comes into Jack's holding room and tells him that Heller has taken Audrey elsewhere and that he is going to file a restraining order against Jack. This seems a little trivial considering Jack doesn't even take orders from the White House, let a lone a piece of paper that tells him to stay 500 feet from someone. Jack looks sad and asks Nadia if he can join Doyle on the mission at Bloomfield. He tells Nadia that he knows how Cheng thinks and could be helpful, but Nadia tells him no. Jack looks even more sad and asks if he can be of assistance from CTU. Nadia tells him that she will put in a good word with the new director who is coming in. Milo goes over to Chloe and notices that she has been crying. Chloe only makes funny faces and never cries, so Milo knows something is up. Morris tells them that they broke up for good, but that they are still being professional, whatever that means. Doyle and team are ready to move on Bloomfield and Nadia reminds him how critical this mission is. Doyle seems impressed that Nadia has stepped up and they give each other one of those looks. Milo catches the look and gives Nadia a look himself, only Nadia won't give him a look back.

At some warehouse Cheng has assembled a rag tag team of individuals. Cheng stresses that he needs a team that will not be linked to him (so that's why all the men are Chinese), he tells his team that he wantst o attack the target in the next 15 mintues. Marilyn and Josh finally make a reapearance and Josh is watching the news. He gets upset that his father was responsible for so much death and tells his mother that he wishes he had never been born into the Bauer family. Marilyn tells Josh that he is not his father (hmmm could that be because his father is really Jack?) and then she turns off the news. Chloe comes in and tells Marilyn about Audrey still being alive. Marilyn does not look like a happy camper to hear this news.

At the White House Lisa calls Bishop and tells him that the crisis with the Russians is over. She wants to know if she can come over and they can pick up where they left off. Bishop okays this idea. Tom tells Lisa that as soon as she gets to Bishop's she needs to leave the room and allow Bishop to access her PDA. They have uploaded fake files stating that the Chinese men were caputured who had the component. This way Bishops Russian contact will pass the information along to President Suvarov. Lisa seems unsure of herself to be able to pretend to be with Bishop. Daniels reminds her that she had been lying to him for a year.

Chloe brings Marilyn in to see Jack. Marilyn apologizes for telling Jack that Audrey was dead. She starts to ask 20 questions but Jack doesn't feel like playing. She tells him that she will be there for him when this is all over with. Jack asks Chloe about the mission and she tells him that everything is fine. Zhou (who is the leader of Chengs tac group), questions Cheng about the limited entry point to the attack. Cheng says this is a good thing and will better able them to "obtain the package". Cheng also says to limit the casualties. Huh?? Terrorist gone soft? Doyle's team enters the Bloomfield facility only to find it empty of people but full of packing crates that once held guns and ammo. Zhou and his team drop down into the sewer access tunnel. Doyle calls Nadia and tells her whats up. She wants to know what Chengs men are planning to attack. Zhou gets directions to the entrance point of CTU.

Morris asks Chloe a question and she gives him a half ass answer. She apologizes and tells him that she is having a hard time with the "break up". She knows that Morris didn't break up with her because of her comment, it's because he is ashamed of arming the bomb and this was his excuse to make himself feel even more lousy about it. Lisa is outside of Bishops apartment and she tells Tom that she is scared. Tom tells her too bad because if she fails then she will be tried for treason. She takes the bag with the PDA and survellience camera and heads inside. Tom tells Daniels that Lisa has headed inside and Daniels is worried she won't be able to pull it off. Lisa walks in and seems uncomfortable kissing Bishop. He asks whats going on and she just says that she is tense. She sets her purse on the table so that it is open to where the camera can see. Lisa tries again to head to the bathroom but Bishop pulls her back tells her that she just showered. He starts to take her clothes her and throws her on the bed with the camera watching. Just tell the man that you have to pee. Whats so hard about that?

Zhou and his men set off charges and enter CTU, this also causes the security at CTU to be shut down along with phone lines and the computers. Nadia tells Milo that he shouldn't be upset about her talking to Doyle. Milo says that it's okay if there is something going on between them. Nadia says she doesn't know what she feels. Just a side note and any males reading this recap disregard, but Eric Balfour was actually looking kind of hot with that whole tousled hair thing he had going on. Anyway, Chloe is backtracking with the satellite and notice that Chengs men did leave Bloomfield earlier in the day. Nadia tries to call Doyle and realizes that the phones are down. Morris finds the same with the security and computers. Nadia calls for a code red emergency lockdown.

Zhou's men start taking out the CTU guards (so much for no casaulties). Jack hears the gunfire and tries to get the guard in the room to give him a gun. The guard goes outside and gets shot. Jack gets his gun and kills the baddie. Zhou makes it to the main floor of CTU and tells everyone to get on the floor and to hand over their cell phones. He has one of his men get a headcount and filter all of the communication. Jack takes out a few more gunman. Now this next part I absolutely did not see coming. Zhou asks who's in charge and before Nadia can stand up, Milo says he is. Without hesitation Zhou shoots Milo in the forehead and there goes the sexy hair. Jack sees what is going and heads off to find Marilyn. Two guards find Marilyn and Josh and one radios Zhou that they have the boy. Jack appears and kills the guards. Marilyn lets Jack know that they are after Josh. After hearing that the men want Josh it all came together and the last 9 minutes were no suprise.

Jack leads Marilyn and Josh into a ventiltion room. He jams the fan with the rifle and tells Josh to crawl in. Him and Marilyn are behind him when they get captured. Doyle keeps trying to call into CTU and can't get through. Zhou decides that someone should talk to him before he gets supicious. He notices that Nadia is actually the director and tells her to speak to Doyle. If she gives anything away he will kill everyone. Nadia talks to Doyle and doesn't start speaking code, but Doyle can hear the stress in Nadia's voice and knows that something is up. Jack and Marilyn are brought in with everyone else. Jack wants to know what is going on and Zhou hits him with his gun. Zhou gets on the PA system and tells Josh to surrender. He says that he doesn't want to hurt him but wants to take him someplace safe. He tells Josh that if he doens't come out of hiding at the count of 10 that he will kill his mother. Zhou starts counting and Josh comes out of hiding.

Cheng gets on the phone with none other than the mysteriously missing for like 10 episodes Phillip Bauer. Cheng tells him that he has his grandson and that Jack and Marilyn are still alive. Phillip seems pleased with the news and tell Cheng that he will get the repaired component once Cheng brings him his grandson. They agree to meet.

1 AM - 2 AM

The episode picks up in the abandoned motel. Doyle is trying to get information from Audrey on where Cheng was holding her but she keeps repeating the same "Save me Jack" phrase over and over again. Broken record much? Meanwhile back at CTU Nadia is having a tough time dealing with her new title as director. Morris comes in and wants to know about the transfer but Nadia tells him that she is not going to approve it and that he should keep his personal life with Chloe seperate from work. Morris tells her that Bill already approved it, but Nadia reminds him that Bill no longer works there. Doyle calls Nadia and tells her that he has not had any luck with Audrey. Nadia tells him to return her to CTU. Doyle tells Nadia that it's his fault that things happened the way that they did. He should have trusted Jack to get the job done. Nadia tells reminds him that Jack went against the White House. Jack wants a few moments with Audrey because he thinks he can get through to her, he was after all tortured by the same men. Doyle refuses and puts him in a seperate car.

Karen meets with Daniels and tells him that they are shutting down the borders in hopes to keep Cheng from leaving the country with the information. She tells them that they have to keep this quiet from Russian President Suvarov. Daniels agrees and then tells Karen that he really does appreciate her opinions and that he is sorry that she had to fire Bill but feels that she did the best thing possible. Daniels gets word that President Suvarov is on the phone for him. He tells Karen and Tom that he wants them both in the meeting for this.

The presidents lover and aide (Lisa) heads into her apartment only to be grabbed from behind. She turns around and starts kissing the intruder. Turns out this guy Mark Bishop is not an intruder but Lisa's other lover. She tells Mark that Palmer is still in a coma and that Daniels is busy pushing his foreign agenda into the place. She's got a few minutes before she has to get back so they decide to have a quickie. Daniels, Karen, and Tom meet for the teleconference with Suvarov. He tells the three of them that he is aware that Cheng has the component and that he is prepared to take military action if the U.S. does not recover it. After the meeting Tom realizes that there must be a leak either at the White House or at CTU about the component. There is no other way that Suvarov could have found out that fast. Daniels tells Tom to let CTU know to use whatever means nessecary to get the component from Cheng.

Cheng uploads the components info to one of his lackies. They guy tells Cheng that there is a problem with the equipment and that he cannot fix it. He needs a security override and will need someone with the knowledge to fix it. Morris, I hear the Chinese calling your name. While Lisa goes to shower, Bishop takes her PDA and uploads info to a russian named Nikolai. He tells Nikolai that Lisa has no idea what he is doing. Chloe stops Morris in the hall and wants to know what he was talking to Nadia about. He tells her that he asked for a transfer because he no longer feels comfortable working with her. She tells him again that she is sorry for the "arming the nukes" comment but he tells her that it crossed a line and that they are over for good. Chloe completely out of character for her breaks down and starts to cry. Karen calls Nadia to tell her about the potential leak at CTU. Nadia wants to know why Karen fired Bill, because everyone knows that Bill is the best man for the job. Karen side steps the question and doesn't answer.

Nadia goes to meet with a shrink, Dr. Bradley, who has come to treat Audrey. Nadia tells Doyle to take Jack to holding and then meet her in medical. Bradley looks over Audrey who is unresponsive and finds that she has needle marks all over her body. Doyle takes Jack to holding who begs him to let him talk to Audrey. Doyle doesn't repsond and Jack pleads with him to take care of Audrey and to not let anything happen to her. Doyle goes and meets Nadia in medical. Bradley (who seems like he has a hidden agenda) tells Nadia that the only way to help Audrey is to pump her full of drugs to try and shock her out of her catatonic state. Doyle thinks this is a bad idea because it could further harm her or kill her. He thinks that they should let Jack talk to her. Bradley says he has read Jack's background and thinks this could be worse, besides he has jurisidiciton over Doyle to overrule him. Doyle tells Nadia that she needs to do what is right. He tells her that Bill would always do the right thing. Nadia is super offended and Doyle tells her that as director she can't be afraid to piss people off.

Daniels calls Lisa and tells her to hurry back because there is a crisis and he "needs her". Bishop wants to know what is going on but Lisa doesn't know. When she leaves Bishop calls Nikolai back for further instructions. Tom comes to Daniels and tells him that the leak is Lisa. Seems she has been spending some quality time with a lobbyist named Mark Bishop who was flagged by the CIA as having ties with Russian intelligence. Daniels admits to Tom that he has been sleeping with Lisa. Tom tells him not to worry that they will turn this around to be to their advantage.

Doyle goes into the holding cell and lets Jack know what the doc plans to do to Audrey. He tells Jack that he should do something about it and then unlocks his cuffs. Jack takes the hint and as gently as Jack Bauer is capable of, knocks Doyle out. He then takes Doyles keycard and escapes into CTU. Jack enters medical and beats up on Bradley and takes Audrey from the room. Bradley sounds the alarm. Morris and Nadia look up the medical room and see that Audrey is no longer there. Morris tells Nadia that if she had just let Jack talk to her that none of this would have happened. Nadia is hurt by that. Seems someone sucks at their job. Morris tells Nadia that Jack has not left the building and starts scanning the security feeds for his location. Nadia realizes that Chloe has left. Doyle comes to and Nadia tells him that she knows he did this on purpose and let Jack escape. Doyle tells her that he did what he thought was best for the operation. Morris tells Nadia that Jack is in the basement and Nadia and Doyle head down there.

Jack uses Doyles keycard to gain access to a room with no cameras and no alarms. He rigs the door so that another keycard cannot open it. He talks to Audrey and reminds her about her life and who she was before all of this happened. He tells her that he is sorry for what has happened to her but that he will not let anyone else hurt her. Nadia gets to the door and realizes that she cannot get through, she calls for an entry team. Jack is still appealing to Audrey who looks like she is crying. Jack hugs her and tells her that he loves her more than anything. As the agents start to make their way through the door, Jack begs Audrey for any informaiton because the guards are going to take him away soon and there will be nothing he can do about it. Jack moves Audrey to a corner and when Nadia and the guards come in he points his gun at them. Suddenly Audrey says the word "Bloomfield". Jack tells Nadia that Audrey is trying. Bradley says that it could mean nothing. Nadia radios Morris and tells him to look into Bloomfield. Nadia swears to Jack that she will not let the doctor touch Audrey. Bradley rejects this idea and Nadia tells him that Audrey is her witness and to back off. Doyle comes in and takes Audrey. Jack thanks Nadia.

Tom lets Daniels know that Suvarov was telling the truth. He has troops moving in on the U.S. military base in Russia. Lisa comes into Daniels office and he tells her that they know that Mark Bishop has leaked the information. He also tells her that he knows that she knows Mark. He plays back a tape where Bishop is telling his informant that he will access her PDA. Lisa tries to lie her way out of it, but Daniels is pissed. He tells her that she has committed treason even if she didn't realize that's what she was doing. He tells her that she will go back to Bishop and tell him that the U.S. has recovered the component. He also tells her that if she tries to expose the affair that he will have her held as an enemy combatant. Apparently that's a really bad thing.

James Heller (YAY!) is at his daughters bedside and tells her that he is going to get her out of there. Audrey doesn't respond. Heller lets Nadia know that he wants to see Jack before he takes Audrey out of CTU. Doyle tells Nadia that Bloomfield may have some meaning afterall and that it is an old copper mining field and that forensics found traces of copper on Audreys clothes. It could be where Cheng has his operation. LAPD is locking down the place, but Doyle is heading over. Nadia tells Doyle that she should have stood up to Bradley from the beggining, but Doyle reasurres her that she did when it counted.

Heller goes to see Jack, and tells him that he is to never see Audrey again. Jack tells him that he may be the only person that can help her. Heller tells him that everything and everyone he touches one way or another ends up dead, and reiterates that Jack is not to see Audrey ever again (not YAY). Like Jack is really going to listen to that nonsense.

12 AM - 1 AM

Doyle is left stranded on the highway as Jack takes off to go rescue Audrey. Doyle manages to comandeer a car off the highway and attempts to follow Jack. Doyle uses the cell phone from the car he stole to call CTU and let's Bill know that he messed up and Jack got away. Morris traces the signal from the circuit board and tells Doyle where to find Jack. Doyle tells Bill that he will find Jack and make sure that the information does not fall into the possession of the Chinese. Bill let's CTU know that Jack has gone rogue and he tells Chloe that he wants to her back to work and that he hopes that he can trust her this time. She tells him that he can.

Jack who is quite the tricky rogue agent pulls up next to some power lines and removes the tracking device. He then continues on his way. Morris loses the signal and realizes that Jack has been driving next to the power lines. He calls up Doyle to let him know the sitch. Milo wants to know what Chloe thinks about the whole situation. She says that she knows that Jack would not hesitate to give his life if it meant preventing the Chinese from getting the circuit board. Milo agrees, but neither think he would be willing to sacrafice Audrey.

The press secretary gets on the air and lets the nation know about Palmer. She tells everyone that VP Daniels has taken over and will be making a statement at 9 a.m. Daniels meets with Tom and wants to know what he plans on doing with the evidence. Tom tells him that he was only using the evidence to prevent the VP from challenging Palmer and to protect himself concerning Reed. He Daniels that he has his support and that he will not use the evidence against him. I smell a little bit of sketch coming out on Tom again. Daniels wants to know what they should do about Karen. Tom tells him that it would be wise to let her stay because she offers a balnace. The VP/President agrees.

Jack calls Cheng and lets him know that CTU is looking for him. He tells Cheng that they need to meet in an old abandoned hotel or CTU will be able to find them. Cheng agrees to the location. Karen again tries to convince Daniels to let CTU handle the situaiton on Jack, but Daniels wants everyone involved and Jack caught. Once he is alone with Lisa, he tells her how much he has been thinking about her despite the days activities, they kiss and she goes home to pack a bag to spend the night. Powers Boothe looks so much older than this woman and everytime he gives her that "lustful" look I can't help but get creeped out thinking that he could be her dad.

Doyle pulls up to the power lines and sees the tracks that Jack left. He knows Jack would not take the freeway that contains the cameras so he figures out which way to go. He calls Nadia and wants to see if she can get any conversations between Jack and Cheng. Doyle saw Jack steal one of the dead terrrorists cell phones. Nadia asks Chloe to help with finding the phone call. Chloe pulls up a list of encrypted info and sends it over to Morris's computer. He starts acting like a 5 year old and tells her that she should have asked before she did that. They start to argue and eventually Chloe lets slip that she wouldn't build a trigger for a nuke for terrorists. Morris is crushed but Milo breaks up the fight. Chloe asks for MIilo to help her and Morris goes to look for that cheap bottle of whiskey he had a few hours ago.

Karen gets word that some guy named Hock from the DOJ is in her office. Tom warns her to tread lightly around this guy because he has a lot of power. Karen meets with Hock who tells her that he has been interviewing Reed about trying to kill Palmer. He is facing death and is trying to offer up any dirt that will get him off of the death sentence. Hock tells Karen that Reed told him about Bill letting Fayed go from custody and then Karen covering it with a "blue folder" at Homeland. Karen explains that nothing was covered up. Fayed was detained 2 years ago in a border sweep but there was no evidence against him and he was let go. She says that it is customary to code the folder blue for these people so that they do not have their rights taken away. She further explains that she was going to resign so that this information was not used against the president during the crisis. Okay, I don't see how this is a cover up. It happened two years ago, they didn't know Fayed was a baddie and she coded the folder then. How is that a cover up?? The only way that would make sense is if they knew that Fayed was dirty 2 years ago and Bill still let him go. Anyway, Hock tells her it doens't matter someone will have to take the blame and better it be Bill because he is farther down the chain from the President.

Jack arrives at the hotel and goes inside. Nadia finds Jack's call to Cheng and lets Doyle know. They still have to decrypt it, but Doyle is on the right road to look for Jack. Bill gets a call from Karen. He tells her that he can't talk and will have to call her back. Karen goes to Tom for advice. Tom says to let Bill take the fall becaues his signature is already on the release papers. Karen is frustrated and Tom tells her it's no big deal that they will get through it. Yep sketchy Tom is starting to emerge again. Karen reluctantly agrees and leaves the office.

Jack calls Bill's personal voicemail and tells him where he is. He tells Bill that he will blow up the device as he has already planted C4 all around the hotel. He tells Bill to look after Audrey for him if he doesn't make it out alive, and thanks him for always being a good friend. Morris goes to Bill with a transfer request. He tells Bill that he can no longer work in Communications with Chloe because she is driving him crazy. Bill agrees to find some place for him.

Bill calls Karen back and she explains what is going on. Bill says that it's ridiculous and wants to know who is pressuring her. Karen is not being informative and tells Bill that she has to protect herself, and then fires Bill. Bill is rightly pissed and hangs up the phone on Karen. She tries to call him back but he ignores her phone calls. Doyle finds Jack's truck parked near the hotel. Bill goes to Nadia and tells him that he is stepping down from CTU director. Nadia knows something is up and Bill confesses that he was fired. He Nadia that for the time being she is acting director of CTU. Security demands that Bill leave and he does so. Nadia informs CTU that Bill has stepped down and that she is now in control.

Doyle ransacks Jack's truck for guns and ammo. He is on the phone when Chengs limo pulls up. He lets CTU know that he needs backup. Doyle sees Cheng get out of the limo. Cheng appraoches Jack and tells him he wants the circuit board. Jack tells him that he wants to see Audrey first. Doyle relays all of this to CTU. Audrey is brought in and Jack wants her gag removed. He removes it for her and tells her that he is sorry for all that has happened in the past 2 years. Jack tells Cheng he will give him the goods once Audrey is out of range for Chengs snipers. Doyle sees all of Chengs men around the building with weapons. Jack tells Audrey to walk down the road to the gas station and that there will be taxi waiting to take her to CTU.

Jack goes to hand over the board and detonate the C4 when stupid Doyle decides to play hero. He starts shooting and a shot hits Jack in his vest. Cheng escapes into his limo and drives off with two more following. The CTU helicopter tries to follow but is shot down by a missle. Doyle grabs Jack who wants to know why the hell he went all commando on him when he was about to detonate the C4 and kill Cheng. Doyle doesn't answer and Nadia tells Doyle to place Jack under arrest. Doyle actually reluctantly puts Jack in handcuffs while Jack continues to berate him for being an idiot. Audrey is brought back in and contiues to mumble the same phrase over and over again "Help me Jack, Please don't let them do this to me". Jack goes over to Audrey and realizes that she doens't even recognize him. This enrages Jack more because he knows that Cheng did something to her. He begs Doyle to help Audrey as he is led out of the hotel.

11PM - 12AM

I like how the show has done a complete 360 from saving the world from terrorists to revenge on the Chinese. The writers are struggling this season.

Anway, the episode starts with the military taking control of the bombs. And i'm jumping ahead a little bit here, but I could have sworn that Bill tells Jack that the military is taking over the bombs and the president has authorized it, but it's not until 10 minutes later that Palmer even finds out about the securing of the bombs. Am I going crazy or did they screw up the timeline? Jumping back into the sequence though, Jack takes one of the dead terrorists cell phones and calls Cheng. He tells Jack that Audrey went to Bejjing to look for him against the protests of her family and friends. Cheng wants some chip from the suitcase nukes that will basically give them all of Russia's nuclear secrets, or else Audrey dies. Jack tells him that they are under military security and Cheng tells him he has an hour and he'll find a way. Before Cheng hangs up he puts Audrey on the phone and Jack swears to her that he will save her.

Tom tries to convince Palmer to go see the doctor because he is looking worse and worse. Palmer tells him that if he looks like he is weak that Daniels will try and steal the presidency again from him. Tom tells him this isn't the case because he has some damning evidence again him and Lisa. Palmer wants to know what it is and Tom tells him he has a tape of Daniels and Lisa conspiring to commit purgery to get Daniels into the Presidential position. Karen comes in to tell Palmer about the nukes and that they are now secure and that Fayed is dead. Palmer wants to make a statement and he wants to do it outside of the bunker.

Bill starts to make an extremely long winded speech to the CTU staff about how proud he is of them. Jack calls Chloe and tells her that Audrey is still alive and how Cheng wants the nuke info. He asks Chloe to pull up the schematics from Morris's computer. At first Chloe is adamant about not doing it she eventually gives in because you know, she's in love with Jack (who isn't). She gets it downloaded to Jack's phone right before Morris walks back to his desk. Palmer meets with Daniels and tells him that he still disagrees with bombing the "country", but that it did give him the idea for the bluff. However, he wants Daniels resignation because he cannot worry about Daniels constantly trying to steal his toys. Daniels tells him no, and Palmer pulls out the bitch card and tells Daniels that he has some very interesting blackmail material on him. Palmer gives him a week to resign. STUPID. That's not going to come back and bite you in the ass or anything.

Morris tells Chloe that someone has hacked into his computer. Morris you see, set up a hacker alert. You would think everyone in CTU would have one of those. Anyway, Chloe finally comes clean about the phone call with Jack. Morris gets pissed and tells her that she has to tell Bill or he will. He will not be responsible for anymore deaths. Chloe finally tells him that she will tell Bill. Chloe walks into Bills office and tells him "i'm sorry, but there is something I have to tell you". Cut to Jack who walks up to the Marines and tells them that he has orders to take the circuit board from the nukes. He threatens to turn in the marines in if they don't let him pass. They do (mostly because they do not need an embarrassing ass kicking by Jack Bauer) and Jack takes out the circuit board. Doyle the new hero in town tells Jack that he is under arrest. They have a standoff until a marine hits Jack over the head with his rifle. Jack passes out and Doyle tells him he is under arrest. I'm pretty sure miranda rights are null and void if the person is unconscious. Doyle calls Bill and tell him that he has Jack. Jack has woken up and speaks with Bill and tells him that he should trust him that he would have never have given the board to the Chinese. He just needs to get Audrey back. Bill rejects the idea, and Jack wants to speak with Palmer.

Jack gets on the phone with Palmer and tells him about his plan. Palmer tells him this cannot happen because the Russians would not be happy if their technology fell into Chinese hands. Jack assures him that he will destroy the circuit board with C-4 once Audrey is safe. Palmer tells him that by doing that he would take out anyone within 30 feet. Palmer suddenly realizes that Jack plans on sacraficing himself for Audrey. Palmer doesn't like the idea of Jack killing himself, but Jack remiinds him that earlier that morning, Palmer had no problem sending Jack to his death. He tells the president that he owes him and Palmer agrees. Doyle gets shot down again when he finds out that Jack is a free man. But Jack asks for his help in getting Audrey. He tells Doyle that he will destroy the circuit board and kill Cheng.

Morris seems suprised when Chloe tells him that Palmer went along with Jack's plan. Chloe is upset that Morris didn't trust her like the president obviously trusts Jack, and she doesn't plan on forgiving him anytime soon. Doyle calls Milo and asks to be transferred to Nadia, so that Nadia can tell him that the tracking device is working. Milo looks like a sad little puppy. Doyle asks Jack why he is risking so much for "this woman" and Jack tells Doyle that not only does Audrey have a name, but that she risked her life for him and he owes her.

Daniels tells Lisa about having to resign. She apologizes and Daniels tells her that it's okay, because they now will have more time to spend together (i'm not making that up). He has the resignation letter and plans to have it to the president right after the press conference. The press conference starts out well until Palmer starts to lose his memory. He starts fumbling with the questions and passes out on the floor. Daniels tucks that resgination letter into the inside of this jacket. Looks like he will get to play president afteralll. The doctor tells Karen and Tom that Palmer has had a stroke and that he is being transported to the hosiptal. The doc doesn't think he will wake up anytime soon. Daniels gleefully tells Karen and Tom to have the 25th amendment enacted (whatever that is again). Lisa tells him about Jacks plan and Daniles decides that he needs to put a stop to it, because he can. He doesn't care that the hostage is James Heller's daughter (I hope he comes back and gives Daniels a good beatdown). He tells Tom to let CTU know that Jack is to stand down.

Karen tells Tom that Daniels is already overruling Palmers decisions. Tom tells them that they don't have any choce. HELLO! What happened to the tape you recorded????? Why isn't Tom threatening Daniels now. These people are so stupid. Karen calls Bill and tells him to stop Jack, he has the CA hwy patrol set up some roadbloacks to try and stop Jack. He pulls Chloe off the job because she can no longer be trusted. Bill calls Doyle and discreetly tells him what is going down. He tells Doyle to take an exit and disarm Jack. Doyle tells Jack that they have to exit because of a roadblock but Jack is no dummy. He pulls a gun on Doyle and tells him that he has already killed one partner today and he surely doesn't have problem putting a bullet in Doyles head. They pull over and Jack has Doyle get out of the car. As Jack drives away Doyle yells after him that he cannot go against the White House. Considering how lame that statement was, Doyle shouldn't have really expected Jack to stop and give up.

On a sidenote, I feel like the show keeps offering up plotlines and then forgetting about them. What happened to Phillip Bauer? Is Logan still alive? Did Martha got to jail or just OD on some pills? Where is Sandra? It will be interesting to see how the season wraps up over the next few episodes, considering it looks like the prisoner exchange will go down next week from the preview. If that's the case, Audrey will be back working at CTU during the next hour.

10 PM - 11 PM

Seems the producers of the show decided to put a quick end to this whole nuclear bomb threat. Maybe because the ratings have dropped?? Instead they decided to restart the season with the return of a very much alive Audrey Raines. Yep she's alive, and it turns out that CTU was not playing a practical joke on Jack.

The hour starts out with the nuke being launched from the sub at the "country". Tom is desperately tyring to get Palmer to call of the bomb. He reminds him that the ambassador is not sponsering Fayed's little vendetta on the U.S. Palmer holds firm though. Karen calls up Bill and wants to know if there is any info on the suitcase nukes. Bill tells her no, and she lets him know that Palmer let loose a nuke. She wants to know if she can lie to the president and tell him that they have some info on the nukes. Bill tells her no, that he is going to play by the rules this time. Palmer tells Tom that he is not going to wait for Jack to break Fayed. Palmer gets word that the nuke has been picked up by the countries radar. The ambassador call sup Palmer and begs him to call off the attack. He tells Palmer that they have info on a man named Habib who has been working with Fayed and they are picking him up. Palmer calls off the attack with two minutes to go and tells the Ambassador to get his ass down to the white house (I guess the bunker is the new white house) and to get him the intel on Habib. Tom sighs relief and Palmer tells him that he knew all along that the Ambassador was lying to him. He also tells Tom that there was no warhead in the missle, that it was all a bluff to get the Ambassador to play nice. Palmer would never take innocent lives.

Jack continues to beat on Fayed, but the man is not talking. Probably because his face is so swollen and it's impossible. Doyle wants to take a crack at beating up Fayed (he's a sadist afterall), but Jack tells him no, because he likes it too much to let anyone share in the fun. Bill calls Jack and tells him about Habib. He tells Jack to bring Fayed into CTU so that they can try something more drastic. And by drastic he means injecting him with that pain serum. While Jack is on the phone Doyle goes over and tries to psycho babble the info out of Fayed, but Fayed is no dummy and doesn't go along with it. Doyle gets frustrated and puts his gun to Fayed's head but Jack comes over and stops him telling him it's time to go. Back at the bunker, Tom apologizes to Palmer for doubting him and choosing VP Daniels. Palmer wants to know if Tom has something on Daniels that caused him to call off the competition for president, but Tom gives him a vague reply and leaves. Palmer's hand starts to twitch. Where's that doc with the adrenaline.

In the CTU van, Doyle doesn't think the pharmacutical torture technique is real effective, but Jack says he has seen it work (namely on his dead brother). Doyle starts harrassing Fayed again and Jack tells him to stop (Doyle is like a 2 year old). Suddenly an armored van slams into the CTU van and causes it to flip over. Gunman get out and surround the van. Jack tells Doyle to get Fayed out and he will cover him. Doyle gets hit in the chest and goes down. Jack then gets shot and goes down as well. The men grab Fayed and put him the armored car.

Once the car drives off, Jack, Doyle and the downed gunmen suddenly sit up. Seems they played a little prank on Fayed and only pretended to have men rescue him. Bill hopes that Fayed will buy the ruse. In the CTU van Jack notices that Doyle is bleeding and Nadia radios in asking if he needs medical assistance. Doyle thanks her and says that he is fine. Milo gives Nadia a "what the hell" was that look. Chloe patches in the feed from the truck to Jack and Doyle as they follow. The men in the truck tell Fayed that Habib sent them to pick him up. Habib found out about his capture through spies. The men tell Fayed that Habib wants Fayed to take them to the nukes so that they can finish the job. Fayed asks for a gun and tells the men that he will do nothing until he speaks directly to Habib. Bill tells Jack that he will try and see what he can do about Habib. Bill lets Palmer know about the fake rescue for Fayed and that he wants to speak with Habib. Palmer tells him that he will speak witht he ambassador about making it happen. Tom tells Palmer that maybe they should try something else. Palmer tells Tom that if Jack says that Fayed won't break, then he belives him. Palmer gets the shakes again and this time Tom sees it.

Palmer goes to talk with the ambassador and he says that they will not be able to get Habib to play along. Palmer tells him to shoot one of his family members in front of him and that will get him to join in the game. Palmer tells him that this needs this to happen immediately. Bill tells Nadia to translate the phone call. She asks Milo to upload the link because she does not have clearance to do so. He tells her no and wants to know what is going on between her and Doyle. The man tried to kill her a few hours ago and now she is being all concerned for his well being. Nadia gives him a round about answer and he finally gives in to uploading the link. Fayed has the men pull the truck into garage where they will wait for Habib's call.

Habib calls into the cover team and Fayed gets on the phone. Nadia translates the conversation and Habib tells Fayed to go and ready his nukes and that he will call back with the target soon. Fayed seems satifsfied and tells the cover team where to take him. Karen notices that Palmer is not looking so good and Tom comes in and tells him that Jack is being led to the bombs. Palmer suddenly dismisses the ambassador and has Karen escort him out. Palmer falls to the floor and tells Tom to lock the door that know one can know. Nadia goes to Bill and tells him that after reviewing the phone call tapes that Habib might have tipped off Fayed. Habib mentioned someone who he says would have been better at carrying out these attacks, but that person has been dead for two years and Fayed would know that. Bill lets Jack know. Jack calls the team and tries to warn him but his phone call is cut off. CTU loses signal with the armored call when it goes into a tunnel. It doesn't emerge from the other side and Jack and Doyle approach. The team has been shot and one is still alive, and Fayed is gone. Jack tells Doyle to stay with the wounded man and he heads into a boiler room (the writers really like their boiler room sets) to follow Fayed. Jack sees that Fayed has killed a sanitation worker and hijacked his truck. Jack gets under the truck and hangs on to the bottom while Fayed drives them both tp the nukes. He calls Bill to try and tell him but the call is lost. Doyle finds the dead sanitation worker but no Jack.

Palmer is with the doc and wants some more adrenaline. The doc tells him no and that he will put in his resignation if needed. Palmer waives this off and the doc tells him that his blood pressure has dropped and that he has already caused himself damange. Palmer puts his coat back on and tells him that he is going back to work and that he wants updates from CTU. Fayed pulls up to the warehouse and tells him men to get the bombs ready. Jack crawls out from underneath the truck and takes out a man and then sneaks into the warehouse. Jack sees the nukes and starts dropping Fayed's men. Jack and Fayed start to fight hand to hand and Jack manages to wrap a heavy chain around his neck. Jack tells Fayed to say hello to his brother for him and raises the chain, hanging Fayed. Jack experiences some pain as more of his ribs start to float around. Doyle arrives and he calls CTU to let Bill know that the bombs are secured. The world has been saved once again by Jack Bauer and this time he did it in less than 24 hours. Seems that everyone can rest easy and the show can end a few hours early. Or not.....

As Jack is heading to medical, Doyle gets a call on his phone. Turns out it's for Jack (how did this guy get Doyles number anyway?) Jack takes the phone a very familiar voice pleads with Jack to help her. It's AUDREY, and the girl is looking rough. Cheng Zhi (that's going to be a fun name to start typing) gets on the phone and tells Jack that if ever wants to see Audrey alive to call him back on a secure line. Looks like it's time for Jack to get some revenge.

9 PM - 10 PM

Daniels calls all the cabinet members together because he wants to kick Palmer out of office so that he can blow up that country. He wants to use the 25th amendment against Palmer. Since I obviously never paid attention during government class in high school, I have no idea what the 25th amendment says, but apparently it has to deal with firing a president. Palmer meanwhile is trying to get out of his wheel chair but he is having trouble standing. He tells his doctor to give him a shot of adrenaline. The doc tells him that it will raise his blood pressure and could be dangerous, but Palmer wants to be able to face Daniels on his feet. Jack is on the phone with Bill telling him about Gredenko's demands for amnesty. Jack tells Bill that he has no intention of honoring them, and Bill tells him that since the presidency is up in the air, the papers will not be binding anyway. Bill gets the attorney general to draw up the papers. That attorney general is a busy man.

Palmer walks into the meeting and has to listen to Daniels spill about how he is glad to see him doing better. That arrogant bastard. Tom tells the cabinet that the decision is theirs alone as to whether Palmer will stay in office. The doctor comes in and tells the group that he believes that Palmer is fit to stay in office. Palmer gets a chance to speak and he tells the cabinet that this has nothing to do with him being "fit" to stay in office but that Daniels is throwing a tantrum because Palmer took his nukes away. Daniels counter argues that he felt it necessary because Palmer has sat back during the entire ordeal and has done nothing. The meeting adjourns for 10 mintues while the cabinet members prepare their vote.

Milo approaches Nadia who says that they should just forget about what happened. Milo asks which part and she says the part where he thought she was a terrorist. Milo says that he is not planning on forgetting about the kiss. When he walks aways Doyle calls Nadia and tells her to come to his office. She goes in, and I was really suprised she didn't set him on fire or at least chuck a computer at his head. He tells her that he is not racist, but that he was just going with the most logical choice. She tells him that he's not racist, he's just a sadist. Doyle tells her that he knows where the leak came from and it came from Milo's computer. He didn't set up the proper security channel, because he forgot. Doyle wants Nadia to get the proof so that she can save him from the same humiliation that she had to endure. Nadia doesn't want to do it, but she finally agrees.

Back at the bunker, Karen and Sandra tell Palmer that he should "fire" the VP, but Palmer says by doing so, he would lose a lot of good people who support Daniels. Tom comes in and tells them that the cabinet is ready. The cabinet votes and seven are for the president (including Karen's vote, when did she become part of a cabinet) and seven oppose. The attorney general says that because there is no majority vote, that Palmer stays in office. Daniels who is still pissy about not being able to blow things up, interjects that Karen's vote does not count because she resigned from her duties. Karen agrees but that she came back and that she was recognized by Daniels while in the cabinet meetings. Daniels says this is not true. The attorney general decides that this is a legal matter and that the supreme court will have to hear the case. Palmer looks none too happy and winces in pain. On the way out of the meeting Daniels tells Tom that he doesn't think that he is on his side anymore and Tom tells him that he is on the side of the United States.

Nadia tells Milo that she is having some trouble with her computer, and he offers to reset it for her. When he walks away she uses a USB drive to download some files from his computer. Nadia gives Doyle the evidence says that he was right about Milo. Doyle instead of arresting Milo, goes and changes the codes so that no one will ever know about the mistake. He tells Nadia that all he wants to do is find the nukes and that they need Milo to do that. He then starts quoting the Koran which he probably googled right before talking to Nadia and tells her how he has read all religious books because he cannot find his own answers. Nadia gets sucked into his psycho babble. Milo wants to know what Doyle wanted but Nadia tells him it was nothing, but MIlo knows that something is up.

Karens calls Bill with her concerns about the vote. She tells him that it will be her fault if Palmer loses. Bill comforts her like a good husband. Gredenko agrees with the amnesty paperwork. Jack tells him that if he tips of Fayed that he will kill him. Gredenko says that he knows that Jack would. Gredenko calls Fayed and they agree to meet at the Santa Monica Pier.

Sandra writes up Palmer's brief saying that Daniels never voiced a negative comment about Karen being back in office. Lisa on the other hand tells Daniels that he doesn't have a chance at winning unless she lies for him. She can write in her brief that Daniels asked her to let Karen know that he was not accepting her back but that Palmer woke up before she had a chance. Daniels says that it is purgery, but Lisa says this is the only way. Daniels tells her to do it, and then lovingly squeezes her hand. One of Fayed's men Halil tells Fayed that they should just go ahead and launch the nukes. Fayed disagrees and tells Halil that if he doesn't return in the hour, that he is in charge.

Tom, who is just continually redeeming himself, walks in on Lisa and the VP and asks Lisa to leave. He then shows Daniels a bug that he had planted in the room. He tells Daniels that he did this to protect himself after Daniels made him lie about the ambassador. He tells Daniels to pick up the phone and call off the vote, otherwise he is going to jail. Karen is getting the launch codes ready to be called off in case Palmer does stay the president when Sandra comes in and tells Palmer that the VP called off the vote. Everyone is happy, but a little wary as to why Daniels would do it. When Sandra and Karen leave, Palmer calls up the doc and tells him to come see him.

Jack and team set up at the pier. An agent injects Gredenko in the arm with a tracking device. Since Doyle and his team are still 20 minutes out, Jack decides to send in Gredenko because they are running out of time. Gredenko starts wandering around the pier and hears a cell ring. He finds it hidden in the railing and no one is on the other line. But a text message tells him to go to Building J. Gredenko being the expert on the Santa Monica pier heads straight for Building J. Fayed's men grab him and pull him into a building. Gredenko pulls out the listening device and unplugs it. Morris loses audio. He tells Fayed that the Americans made him do it, but that he has a plan. Jack heads into the room. No one is there. Milo tells Jack that the signal is still coming from the room. Jack walks around the corner and finds Gredenko's severed arm on the floor.

Jack follows the blood trail while Fayeds men are holding up Gredenko and trying to escape. Fayed pulls Gredenko into a crowded bar of people who are watching news of the attacks. Gredenko knows that they are trapped and starts yelling that Fayed is the terrorist. The people in the bar recognize him and Fayed shoots at Gredenko but misses and hits someone else. The people at the bar attack Fayed. Gredenko escapes. Jack rushes in and is pissed that he didn't get to kick the crap out of Fayed, but he gets in one good kick before cuffing him and calling CTU to tell him that he has Fayed.

Palmer who is becoming quite the adrenaline junkie has the doc shoot him up once more even though it will raise his blood pressure again. Bill calls Palmer and tells him that Fayed has been caught but that the bombs have not been found, but that Jack will interrogate Fayed. Gredenko isn't faring so well since he cut off his arm and falls over dead under the Santa Monica Pier. Karen and Tom call a truce and she asks about the real reason why Daniels backed down and Tom says he has no idea. She tells Tom that someday she would like to hear the real story. Tom gets a call and he tells Karen that Palmer has ordered the nuclear strike. They rush to the room. Tom asks Palmer what he is doing and Palmer tells him that he tired of everyone thinking that he is weak. Tom tells him not to confuse being reckless with being strong. But it is too late, the nukes have been launched.

As for the previews for next week, is it just me, or did it look like Doyle shoots Jack??

8 PM - 9 PM

We start out this hour with VP Daniels still wanting to blow up countries. Tom tries to get him to see some reason but the attack will happen within the hour. At the house where the drone was being piloted, Jack wants the pilot to live but he finds out the guy has died. That;s what happens when you shoot someone multiple times. Gredenko gets pissed when his pilot doesn't answer his phone. Fayed is watching the news and says that there is no indication that the bomb went off and therefore CTU must have found the guy. Fayed thinks that the pilot will give up Gredenkos location. Gredenko tells him to quit worying because they still have two more bombs, but Fayed isn't trusting the old Russian general anymore. Gredenko calls up Mark Hauser and tells him that he needs more security access information. Seems that Gredenko has already paid Mark for the info, so he owes him. Mark gets off the phone and goes over to his brother Brady. Turns out Brady is autistic, but not severely. I don't see him winning Mark mutiple hands at blackjack, but he does have some computer skills. Mark has Brady get the security files.

At CTU Nadia is going to be processed as a terrorist, but Milo still thinks that she is innocent. Chloe manages to pick up on the call between Mark and Gredenko, it's scrambled but Chloe learns that he is a security consultant and gets his address to Jack. A Forensic Tech named Johnson finds some magical thingy that allowed the pilot access to CTU. Because of this, it is clear that Nadia had nothing to do with the breach. Johnson tells Doyle that they will make an example out of him because of the way he treated her. Johnson gives Doyle the device and tells him that he owes him one for some shady business while in Denver together.

Karen goes to get Sandra's help in reviving Palmer. She tells Sandra that she needs to okay this because Daniel's is about to blow up some random country and only Palmer can stop it. Sandra has some hestiation but she agrees that bombing the country would be stupid, so she agrees to bring Palmer out of the coma. While in the bomb dropping briefing, Lisa brings in Daniels a note and he excuses himself. He reads the note and learns that Sandra is having Palmer woken up. The VP is not happy and blames it on Karen. He calls up the doctor and all kinds of threatens him but the doctor says he has to abide by the wishes of Sandra.

Jack and the TAC Team raid the Hauser house. Mark gets shot in the process and of course has some arterial bleeding. Brady sits in the corner rocking back and forth while Mark is apprehended. Jack sits down and talks to Brady who tells him that Mark had him get through a firewall. Jack goes to Mark and tells him that his brother is in serious trouble unless Mark gives up Gredenko. Jack tells him that Brady will be protected if Mark gives up the info. Mark agrees and tells Jack that he was getting specs for the Edgemont Nuclear Power Plant. Doyle returns to CTU and wants to know about Nadia, Bill tells him that she is being taken to a holding facility. Jack calls Bill and tells him about his plan to use Brady to get Gredenko. Brady goes to see his brother who tells him to do whatever Jack tells him to do that Jack will take care of him. Mark calls up Gredenko and tells him that he has been called into work and that he must go immediately. He tells him that Brady will meet him with the information that he needs. Grendenko agrees rather stupidly and tells him that he will be there in 20 minutes.

Back at CTU, Johnson goes to Milo and tells him that he found evidence at the scene that will clear Nadia of everything. Milo wants the info, but Johnson slyly tells him that he gave it to Doyle who obviously has not logged it in yet. Milo immediately goes after Doyle accussing him of hiding evidence. Bill holds them apart while Morris runs over and says that he got the chip from Doyle and that he gave it to him 10 minutes ago. Doyle explains that he got it from an unreliable source and he wanted to have it checked out before he logged it into evidence. Morris says that it's legit and Nadia is cleared. Milo apologizes to Doyle and Doyle pats him on the shoulder and tells him that everything is cool. Doyle goes to Johnson and tells him that he has screwed with the wrong person and walks away. Johnson has quite a happy smile on his face.

Bill goes to the holding cell and has Nadia released. He tells her that he knows that her first instinct will be to quit and then sue the hell out of CTU, but he needs her to stay and help. She agrees. Chloe tells Milo it is going to be hard when she comes back because his feelings for her are not that secret. Milo sets up her station as she walks over. He tries to apologize but she walks away. He follows her and she tells him that whatever he thought might happen between the two of them is over. Milo calls BS and grabs her for a kiss and tells her that he is sorry. Chloe sees it happening and looks a little jealous.

The doctor comes in and tells Sandra that there is more swelling and they should put him back in a coma. Sandra refuses because she knows that Palmer would want to stop the VP. Suddenly Palmer flatlines and the med team is called him. Jack works with Brady on what to do during the exchange with Gredenko. He gives him an earpiece and explains that they can talk to one another, but that Brady cannot let Gredenko know that Jack is listening in. Jack seems unsure that Brady can pull this off, but he has no other choice. He sends Brady out to wait for Gredenko. Gredenko pulls up and gets out of the car. The tranq shot is being blocked by Brady. Jack hears Gredenko tell his man to shoot Brady as soon as he gets back in his car. Jack translates and tells Brady to get down on the ground. Brady drops and an agent shoots Gredenko with a tranq dart. His men start shooting but the team take them out. Jack goes to check on Brady who just wants to see his brother. Jack tells him he did a good job and like he promised he can go see Mark now. Gredenko is taken into the house to be prepped for questioning by Jack.

Gredenko tells Jack (must have just been a mild sedative) that he knows who he is. Jack tells him to give up Fayed and then he is being shipped back to Russia where President Suvarov will not be happy with him. Gredenko tells Jack he will help him find Fayed in return for amnesty from the U.S. gov't and that he will not be turned back over to Russia. Jack looks at the man like he is crazy. Gredenko tells him he better make up his mind because if he doesn't call Fayed soon, he will know that something is wrong.

Tom tells Daniel's that Gredenko is in custody and that they can call off the nuclear strike. But Daniel's has got a serious hard on for blowing up this country and decides to go ahead with it. Tom tries to change his mind but Daniel's figures this is one way to teach people not to mess with the U.S. The VP then gets news that the strike has been called off. Daniel's is livid and then gets a call from the very much awake Palmer. He tells the VP that he has called off the strike and that he is resuming his duties as President. Daniel's looks like he is about to murder someone and demands to see the Attorney General and declares that Palmer due to his injuries is unfit to be the President. He needs to be removed from office.

Before my last recap I had a little rant going about how I thought Audrey was still alive. Well according to IMDB she is alive, or at least in some manner. It looks like she will be rejoining the show starting at 10 PM and appearing in the rest of the episodes for the season. Now just how is she going to come back....

1. The Chinese faked her death and they are holding her hostage with daily sessions of torture.

2. She faked her death to get the Chinese off her trail and anyone else since she was using "back channels" to get Jack free.

3. Jack is going to mull over her autopsy and burnt passport pictures multiple times throughout the rest of the season and Kim Raver decided that she needed to be credited.

4. LOST style flashbacks (like Mac said, they are sharing the boiler room set, why not some flashbacks as well. Perhaps we'll learn that she is also a love child of Jack's daddy)

5. Audrey never died, she never went to China, and it's the best practical joke that CTU has ever come up with to play on Jack.

I guess we'll find out at 10 PM.

7 PM - 8 PM

Warning: The following comment is a spoiler for what Jack finds out half way through the episode

Okay, first off, who really believes that Audrey is dead? Yeah me either. This theory might come back to bite me in the ass, but those Chinese who were holding Jack are some shady folks, and since Kim Ravers new show The Nine got cancelled (yes, I'm still bitter about that) seems only fair that Day 7 should find Jack in China and finding out that Audrey's death was faked by the Chinese. Or better yet, maybe setting us up for the 24 movie. An article I read said that they wanted some "global" travel and they wouldn't be restricted to 24 hours. Anywho, that's just my two cents.

We start out this episode with some EMT's looking over the carnage at the Russian Consulate. Jack is being checked out and is told that he has some floating rib fragments that could cause internal bleeding. Jack gives the EMT a "yeah whatever, it's genetically impossible for me to internally bleed" look and tells Doyle that he wants to keep helping out but Doyle shoos him away to CTU. At CTU Bill lets the VP know that there are drones armed with nukes somewhere out in Shadow Valley. Fayed tells Gredenko that he only has one drone ready to go. Gredenko tells him to launch it because CTU now knows where they are located. Fayed gets angry because he knew that Markov would give up their location. Gredenko swats him away and tells him to pack up, that they are leaving. He has his man launch the drone and manually pilot it towards it's destination.

Chloe wanders over to Nadia and Milo and finds Milo reassuringly holding onto Nadia's hand. Chloe makes one of her faces and tells Milo that she knows about him giving Nadia his clearance and that it's a felony. Milo tells her that if she turns them in that they won't be able to help from jail. Nadia tells Chloe that she was being racially profiled and that her access got restricted which was slowing down her work. Chloe tells them to chill out that she is not going to tell on them but if she could find out, then so could anyone else. Morris meanwhile finds the drone that Gredenko has lauched. Bill calls up Andrews Air Force base and tells them to ready their F-16's. Apparently these guys just sit in the air waiting to blow stuff up because they can be ready to intercept in 2 minutes. The drone disapears from the screen and Morris freaks out. Gredenko's man has disabled CTU's satellites which keeps the drone hidden.

VP Daniel's is perplexed as to how the US has the most sophisticated satellite tracking devices in the world and yet they can't find a drone. He tells his assistant Lisa to get the cabinet together because he wants to implement his own nuclear air strike against the Ambassdor's country. I like how they have still not said what country this is. I guess they are going to pick one at random. Based on populations, Chloe lets Bill know that San Fransico, Phoenix and Las Vegas may be a target for the drone.

Jack shows up at CTU and on his way to Medical he sees Marilyn. He goes in and tells her that once this is all done that he will come by and check on her and Josh. She tells him that she always regretted not being with him and that she thinks that he regrets it to. She leans in to plant a wet one and gets de-nied. Jack tells her that he was with someone before he was taken to China and that she doesn't even know that he is alive. Marilyn realizes that he is talking about Audrey and decides to drop the bomb out of pure female jealousy. She tells him that Audrey went to try to look for him and to secure his release but that she was killed in a car accident a few month back. Jack looks aboslutely heart broken, and a little pissed off. Jack rushes over to Chloe's desk and demands to know why Bill didn't tell him about Audrey. Chloe explains that Bill didn't really think it was relevant considering everyone thought Fayed was going to kill him. Chloe mentions that Audrey was using back channels to try and get him released. Sounds like a fake death to me. Jack wants the file.

At the bunker, Lisa tells the VP that Karen will be present for the Cabinet meeting. There was no way to exclude her. Karen runs into Tom and she tells him that she is not going to play anymore games and that she is there to represent Palmer. Tom nods in agreement and sort of apologizes in his own way about how things were handled. During the cabinet meeting Daniels tells everyone that he is excuting a nuclear attack against the "country" responsible for Fayed if another nuke goes off on U.S. soil. Karen tells him that it's a horrible idea and that they could start WW3. The VP dismisses her concerns and tells her the decision has already been made.

Milo starts to suspect Morris is drinking again because his work has improved (yeah I don't get that either). Nadia tells him he's fine but he asks Chloe to check his breath. Chloe goes over and kisses Morris and tells him that she is only checking his breath. He's fine. After the cabinet meeting Karen goes to Tom and tells him that he has to stop this nonsense. She knows that he is against because she could see it in his eyes. Tom tells her that he is there to support the VP and that all of Palmer's decisions have been wrong and look where it got him. Karen still thinks he is hiding something and he never reveals his true feelings.

Chloe realizes that there is a leak in CTU and that someone is helping out the drone pilot. Doyle immediately assumes that it is Nadia because she is Muslim. Milo and him almost come to blows but Bill steps in. It's hard to tell if Milo is genuinely concerned that Nadia is in danger or if they will find out he gave her his access code. Turns out that the leak is coming from Nadia's computer. Chloe can't shut it down without shutting down the entire system. Doyle grabs Nadia and demands to know what is going on. Nadia had no idea what he is talking about and Bill has her sent to holding. Morris gets on her computer and tries to find out where the guy is who is driving the drone. Gredenko gets call from his man letting him know that the drone will detonate over San Fransisco once it crosses a barrier. This will happen in about 20 minutes.

Karen goes to talk to the President's doctor who tells her that they had to induce coma because of the swelling on Palmer's brain. She wants to know if there is anyway that he can be brought of the coma. He tells her that she is crazy and that only immediate family can give that kind of okay. But that it could kill him. Karen looks over and see's Palmer's sister keeping vigile by his bed. Milo seems upset that Nadia could actually be a terrorist. Chloe doesn't know what to think and Milo makes jokes about Doyle. Morris finds a location for the pilot and it is only a few blocks from CTU. Boy, those terrorists are ballsy. Doyle is busy interrogating Nadia who denies knowing anything. He grabs her by the throat and threatens her but Nadia holds her own. She tells him that she read his file and she knows what happened in the Denver office. She knows that he gets off on hurting other people. Milo walks in and tells Doyle to stop because they got the address. Nadia tells Milo that she is innocent but Milo says nothing.

Jack is sitting in medical going over Audrey's file. There are pictures of the car wreck, and a picture with a body covered in a sheet. There is also a copy of her burned passport. But the only identification made was through DNA. The body was too badly burned. Oh yeah, she's still alive, burning a body beyond recognition is the perfect cover. Jack is pulled away from his thoughts when he sees a tac team running towards the door. Jack pulls on a shirt and asks Chloe for a PDA (for once he's not just going randomly find one) and turns to Bill and lets him have it for not telling him about Audrey. Bill tells Jack that he is sorry but that he should get back to medical. Jack tells him that he wants to do this for Audrey and that once this is done, he is going to China and finding the people who killed her. Bill tells him fine and that he is on point.

Jack, Doyle and the team wait outside the house. Jack has some pain and Doyle wants to know if he should take over. Jack tells him no, because there is only one hero per day and that's Jack Bauer. If Doyle doesn't watch out, he is going to end up like Curtis. Chloe tells them where to enter. They enter and take out the guards. The pilot hears them and shoots back. He is set to drop a grenade when Jack shoots him. Jack sits down at the controls and with Chloe's help he manages to turn the drone away from the barrier around San Fransico which prevents it from detonating. He starts to lose control and needs a place to land it. Chloe tells him to land it in an industrial park. The drone sort of crash lands and begins to catch fire. Fire and rescue arrive on the scene and a geiger counter indicates that the core has been cracked and that radioactive material is being leaked.

Bill calls up the VP to give him the good news, but Daniel's doesn't see it that way. Even though the bomb did not explode it is still leaking and will cause the deaths of those who were first on the scene, He says that he is going ahead with the strike. Karen tells him it is a bad idea and Tom comes to her aide stating that they were only going to fire if the nuke went off. Daniel's doesn't care and tells the general to launch the missle. It will be ready within the hour.
