24 Review: 2 AM - 3 AM: In Plane Sight

Jack BauerPreviously on 24: last hour's recap.

Really, not much happened in this episode. Well, stuff happens, but for the most part, we're just back to where we were, but Jack is on a plane. With the recording.

Chloe runs away from Bill's house, thanks to Karen's heads-up, and goes to a hotel, where she works on her laptop. Bill gets picked up up Homeland Security people and taken into CTU, where Karen is going to lead the interrogation. Miles thinks something is up, and he's going to do something about it.

Chloe gets to the hotel, which is pretty busy for 2 in the morning, plops down at the hotel bar/restaurant, and almost gets picked up by some drunk guy. But she shocks him with her taser, sort of like R2D2 did in that one Star Wars movie.

In the plane, Jack is in the luggage compartment (not the overhead bin) and gets the air martial's seat number from Chloe. Wait, time out. So cell phones work on planes? Has the plane not gotten high enough that the phone doesn't work? Or does CTU know something I don't know? Because Jack surely didn't have to use one of those credit-card swiping phones in the back of the seat in front of him.

Anyway, Jack makes his way out of the hold and into the coach area, where he takes out the air martial (and no one seems to notice). Chloe then lets him know that there's a German guy on the plane who used to work for Omicron, so Jack impersonates the air martial, manages to get the guy to walk to the back of the plane, and throw him in the cargo hold. Turns out that this guy doesn't know anything about Henderson and the recording, and Jack believes him.

At the western ranch, Martha wants some pills so she can relax (looks like she picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue), and Mike goes to get them for her. Mike wants to know what is going on, and Logan says that they're having marital problems. Mike apologizes, but he doesn't believe it.

On the plane, the crew realizes that a passenger is missing, and when the martial wakes up, they lock down the luggage bin and begin to depressurize it. Jack makes a few phone calls, gets connected to the pilot via Chloe and Karen, and wants out of the cargo hold. When the pilot won't comply, Jack manages to drive the plane from the pit (?), then gets all terroristy and forces his way out. He starts searching all the passengers for the recording, but the pilot is supposed to land the plane.

When Logan finds out that Jack is on the plane, he calls his bald buddy, who wants Logan to order the plane down. And as Bill comes into CTU, Karen goes to take the lead, but Miles gets more suspicious. So he calls up Mike Novick, who brushes off his concerns.

Logan and Mike call Karen, and Logan says the plane needs to be brought down since Jack is a fugitive. Karen has to agree, since she hasn't fully come out against him yet.

Chloe finds out that it's not a passenger that has the recording -- it's the co-pilot. Jack calls the pilot on a private line, who tries to escape the cabin but gets hit with a flashlight by his buddy. He does, however, manage to unlock the door. This lets Jack come in and get the recording. So now he's got it again.

Whacked-out Martha calls up Logan wanting to talk a bit. He gets agitated with her, then hangs up, because his friend is calling. He wants the plane to be shot down. Beep, beep, beep.

Honestly, that episode was pointless.

Really all that happened was that Jack got the recording back. Is this all that is going to happen in the next few hours? Jack gets the recording, Jack gives up the recording. And again.

I guess since it is happening on a plane it makes it more exciting -- and Chloe did get to taser that guy -- but it was pretty much a pointless hour. -- Jason Unger
