24: All-time Ups and Downs

Kim, Jack and Teri Bauer After my Gripe City entry last week about Day 5, the Boston Herald has a list of their bests and worsts all-time for the show. Just a few:

BEST SHOCK Season 5: President Palmer is assassinated in the premiere’s opening moments. Season 1: The show’s definitive moment came when Nina killed Teri in the season-ending finale.

MOST EXTRANEOUS STORY LINE
Season 5: Lynn’s drug-addict sister and her thug boyfriend steal Jack’s wallet.
Season 4: CTU Director Erin Driscoll’s mentally unbalanced daughter is in the infirmary.

I'm down with the best shocks. Those two were unexpected, mind-numbing, and just ... well, shocking.

For the extraneous story line, Driscoll's daughter was pretty unnecessary, but what about all of season 2 for Kim? They've got the cougar as a "most annoying plot twist" but the story line was just unnecessary. -- Jason Unger

Kim and the cougar was the nadir of the series. There's just no argument.
