USA Today is reporting that Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) will make a brief appearance as a worker at CTU on the Feb. 6 episode of the show (that's two weeks). Apparently he's a fan of the show and was visiting the set when the producers asked him if he wanted to pop in for a second, according to executive producer Howard Gordon.
"We had a scene in which Audrey Raines (Kim Raver) needs to get a file folder from someone, and Sen. McCain delivered it."I heard that he'd be making an appearance a while back, but they didn't say as what. At least they're not making him a real politician. That would just make the 24-verse seem less like fiction and more like a pseudo-real world show.McCain's non-speaking cameo as an unidentified bureaucrat is so brief it seems like a "Where's Waldo?" moment, Gordon says. "If you blink, you'll miss it."
The report says that McCain and the producers talked politics, but McCain was more interested in talking about the show. "He was able to cite chapter and verse from the seasons," Gordon said. -- Jason Unger
